I've been away for quite some time.....glad to be back. We are finishing our move to our new residence. I have my PC hooked up now with much faster internet speed.

I've missed you guys, but will be back now daily.

The new stable release is great. I will upgrade as soon as I have time. I love the styles. I can't wait to contribute to new styles as soon as possible!!!

Thanks to all who worked on this release!

Very carefully follow the "topic starter" of this thread, by Mighty Gorgon. Read over all methods, use the one you want. If you want to "upgrade" follow those steps, making sure to save your config.php file to make sure you don't accidentally delete it when you install all all the new files. If you upgrade, then your database will retain your users, and with the upgrade, all the tables will be updated also. But like MG says, backup your forum totally in case you have a problem.

thanks mg for the release...

but there is one important step missing in the instructions from upgrad of old IP versions....

so you should not "delete" the install folder... you must rename it to "_install" ... then login as admin (only the founder (user_id 2) can perform this steps) an run _install/install.php to fix the album path etc pp...

Yes, it's true. I have to tell continuously this thing to all user on Icy Phoenix italian support site, because this step is not reminded in any part of instruction, but is necessary if you want to update from an older version of IP.

Thank´s a lot MG.

Yet another great release of IP.

Does the spanish RC2 Translation miss some files or updates . It´s just a question BTW.

I hope someone will update Formel one mod ( Formel-Webtipp) for this now

Thank you very much for the hard work!

PS I get a blank page when updating from latest RC to this one when I go to {site_root}/install/database_update.php. What could be the problem, and how can I update? Really looking forward to check it out, and releasing my styles!

Readme file was updated with new instructions, but I forgot to update instructions here.

Now everything should be up to date.

Yes, they do tend to run amok when there's not enough supervision.

But my axe has gotten pretty blunt lately, as most of it is none of my business.

Make me a Moderator again if you wish (Or a Granny-Snatcher), and I'll sharpen it up - But not too sharp this time!

I'll just be somebody rationally insane like Gau Gau and Hillier from Coppermine. Step out of line, ignore the rules or abuse acceptable forum protocol, then it's - - - - CRUNCH!

Edit:

On second thoughts - Maybe Not!

For the last SVN Release ... Pass the "false" argument in 2nd, because the 2nd arg is "$use_autoload= true", and I don't think it's an autoloader(c_exists)

Post subject: Re: Icy Phoenix 1.3.0.53
Second parameter is only supported in PHP 5 or above. I won't add that until PHP 4 is still alive. Unfortunately many hosting services still use PHP 4.

Informpro [ Tue 29 Dec, 2009 23:35 ]
Post subject: Re: Icy Phoenix 1.3.0.53
Adding one parameter more is not a problem: PHP 4'll just ignore it.

I will release it officially soon... in the meantime you can test the RC version of the patch in the Patch section.

Post subject: Re: Icy Phoenix 1.3.0.53
Make sure you have an "@" before that function, because new version of XAMPP has very severe rules about warnings.

The function should result like this: @set_magic_quotes_runtime(0)

I don't have that warning anymore in XAMPP.

Another way is to limit the output of warning by acting on the error reporting feature.

Lopalong [ Sat 23 Jan, 2010 15:00 ]
Post subject: Re: Icy Phoenix 1.3.0.53a
I knew how to fix it. The point I was making is that the bug still exists and I assume will block anyone from installing IP to a server with php5 installed. Because I did note that it does not have the @ before the functions in the latest 53a download; but was fixed in the patches I believe.

And I do assume of course that the "Main" .53a download contains all of the upgrades that are posted in the Patch file Thread.

Mighty Gorgon [ Sat 23 Jan, 2010 18:19 ]
Post subject: Re: Icy Phoenix 1.3.0.53a
I have that in my patch files, but I will check again to make sure.

Edit: I have just checked both patch files and new pack and they have the "@" in front of that function. Are you sure to have downloaded the right package?

Lopalong [ Sat 23 Jan, 2010 22:24 ]
Post subject: Re: Icy Phoenix 1.3.0.53a
Mmmm. I downloaded it yesterday from the links on page 1 of this thread.

http://www.icyphoenix.com/dload.php?action=file&file_id=171 Was as slow as hell.

So I downloaded it from the second mirror, which I note has now been removed.

Maybe that was the problem. ?

It doesn't matter, as I only wanted to test a phpbb script that was made/modified for something else and I was curious if it would work out of the box with Icy Phoenix.

Mighty Gorgon [ Sun 24 Jan, 2010 13:14 ]
Post subject: Re: Icy Phoenix 1.3.0.53a
You are right, Mirror 1 was not updated yet, because I'm having problems in updating SourceForge package (they changed something and my login data doesn't allow me to upload files any more!).

Please download it again.

Thanks.

Lopalong [ Mon 25 Jan, 2010 12:37 ]
Post subject: Re: Icy Phoenix 1.3.0.53a
I thought that opting for the mirror rather than dload.php was probably a mistake, - - - - But!

I'm having a lot of fun these days setting up a local "pseudo" internet for my younger grandchildren with html and a some fudged script that makes them think they're on the internet; and that's keeping me pretty busy.

They love it, as much as I love them - - - So me and Icy Phoenix are on hold at the moment until they yell out "Pop! this is all too complicated"

I have:
mysql 5.0.51a-24+lenny+spu1
php 5.2.6-1+lenny4 (with mysql)

and when start to install i got this:

An error has occurred during installation
The PHP configuration on your server doesn't support the database type that you chose

Any ideas?
Thanks in advance

Try using XAMPP.
