it's a german video with english subtitles.....your opinion would be interesting for me because here people from many countries.

I was quite young when the wall came down in Germany but do remember the news reports of the cheering people the happiness in their faces etc..

Not that I follow politics at all but to go back to a life where freedom is a reward only to those in power, is a unthinkable...

I thought the problems in Germany were behind them but by that video clearly they are not...

I guess you have to be in the heads of the individuals to understand why they want their peoples life to be like that or maybe they just cannot except change..

As I said I do not follow politics very well even in my own country I have my opinion as to the whole government process and I will leave it at that...

well i am not sure what are your goals here, but very likely i don't like to talk about politics nor to start flames (and politics are known to have a lot of stuff for flames).

They are in the parliament cause the people here elected them - and i tend to be satisfied with this - its better to have those national socialists. I don't judge about if its right or wrong - but only picking them out is purely wrong. There are a bunch of stories for other parties as well that could put them on the dark side. This video was made to show the bad things from those former times. And i don't know their program in detail - but i think they don't have any SED ideas in it, nor i think they would like to establish another STASI or whatever you may assume.

Hence we could now start to quarrel about the pros and contras - but this is not the appropriate platform here
Only will mention that the other parties have had their bad deeds too.

As long as posts are kept civil, there shouldn't be a problem.

Thanks for posting this video. Truly enlightening. I have lived in the USA all my life and have enjoyed the many freedoms that come with being an American. It disgusts me to see or hear talk of communism and strict dictatorships. I also don't understand why or how folks could live in a country without basic rights that allow them to live their life the way they want.

Freedom comes with a price...blood, sweat, and tears.

if you want opinions from peoples of other states - would it then not be better not to influence them by such a video? Cause this video point only on the worst thing in GDR times (i could not find anything good). So you influence their minds.

And i would not say that people over there in western Germany elected the communism. And even then they elected, its their choice and everyone is free to vote for the things he likes most. Thats the freedom we have.

What bothers me most is why you only show the bad things of this party - any hard feelings? any fear that something bad will happen? Other parties have their failures as well. And most support the capitalism - what nearly brought us to this crappy financial crises. So their actions are crap as well

Again - this forum is the wrong platform for such discussions. Gathering minds from people from other states is OK - but then based on facts and not on youtube videos. And most of us here don't have experience with communism and therefore i am not sure if statements are really helpful (and again not based on such a video).
