Hello all.

Could anybody inform me if the upgrade from 1.2.0.27 to 1.2.21.48 RC1 is relatively secure or the risk to upgrade it is high yet?
Does the upgrade cause damage in the database?

Thanks a lot.

Mauro.

The RC1 is really close to a new stable release. A lot of users here, including staff, are using the RC1 live and are having no problems. The upgrade process is quick and easy. Some tables are changed in the database, but nothing that will harm the database provided you perform the upgrade correctly. You should always create a backup before upgrading any forum software.

Thanks Chaotic.

I upgraded from 1.2.0.27 to 1.2.21.48 RC1 but I receive 404 error when I try to access my site. I uploaded all the files again to avoid some problem with any file but the site remains with 404 error. I checked my config.php and it is ok. When I run the database_update.php it indicates that the database is already updated.
Any tip to help me?
If It is difficult, can I just install a new and clean 1.2.21.48 and recover only the users and topics?

Thanks.

Mauro.

question .

I suppose you locked your site before update.

i hope you did not log-out after that.

second.
you can do a fresh install and then recover DB from backup. that should do it.

Hello.

Fortunatelly or unfortunatelly I forgot to lock the site before upgrade it.

Did I kill the boy doctor? hehehe.

I found 2 situations:
without using my 1.2.0.27 config.php and trying the fresh install it indicates me that the database already exists and the install can´t create tables. So, this way I can´t update my system.

Second way: I read in the forum about update older versions and I uploaded the new files (1.2.2.21.48 C1), restored my config.php (1.2.0.27) and run the database_update.php at /install. After it, the database update indicated me that it was updated, but I can´t access the site. In this second option the fresh install doesn´t work.

I thought the same thing. Before you suggest me to make a free and clean install I created a different database and folder to make this new install. In the second page, before to complete this with the database info I see in the top of the page: In order to complete this install please fill out the details requested below.
Please note that the database you are going to install into should already exist (Setup procedure cannot create one).

And I can´t continue.

I´m confused now. I never saw it.

P.S. My fault. The new installation works in the new dir. My update still doesn´t work.

Thanks.

Mauro.

just put your old ip config.php and past it into the new folder.
then rename the old folder and rename the new one with the name of the old one.

see if this works.

if this doesn´t work send me an PM
