Post subject: 1.3.0.53b Fresh Installation DB Connection Error

When i try to install 1.3.0.53b i get this message:

Warning: mysql_connect() [function.mysql-connect]: Access denied for user 'thetro_ter'@'localhost' (using password: YES) in /home/thetro/public_html/mysite.com/install/includes/mysql4.php on line 46

Could not connect to the database

I downloaded the package from this link: http://www.icyphoenix.com/dload.php?action=file&file_id=171

any idea about the solution ?

By any change did you try installing this on an existing database and you have overwritten both ..htaccess and config.php?

if so try putting those 2 files back in the root of your forum from your backup

unfortunately, i tried many things but didn't help.. im really surprised because i have 3 icyphoenix sites since 2007 with all the patchs and upgrades and now a fresh installation don't work !!

since this is an new install.

why don´t you try to reup all files in binary mod off your ftp-client, and make a fresh install.

also, please check, that your database data ( server/ pass/ user ) is correct.

I´ve just installed the very same package on my test server, without problems

Yes me too its running normaly on my local server, i know the problem is in some wrong settings in my shared hosting server and i asked you because of your experience if you have faced same problem in the past.. anyway i want to try the last solution before i contact my hosting support.

So please i need help from anyone by uploading the package to my space again via FTP (my upload speed is 16 kbit/s)

If someone want´s to give hileb a hand, uploading the files, he can get the ftp data from Jushua or from me.

Due to real life, i got no time to do it for hileb.

Wan´t be home for the next 7-8 day´s, so you´re welcome to give him a hand

I'm sorry to say I'm not the right person to do this because I'm not an Icyphoenix expert

I would also like to advice you to at least change your ftp password hileb ..because it was visible to the world for a couple of hours before i noticed and removed it)
