When a user view a topic, it isn't stored the time so you can't create a block to show the topics with the most views in a month.

Thanks are stored in a separate table, so you can have the date there and you could create a block for thanks in a subperiod of time.

You should try to be a bit more descriptive with what you would like to have in each block.

A list like this will be very useful:
[list][*][b]Topics with more Thanks this month[/b]: a block listing the top X topics with the more thanks received during the current month (or in the last 30 days).
[*]...[/list]
