Post Redirection Of Domain To A Subdirectory

Hi, How does one redirect a domain to point to a sub directory of my site without it showing in the address bar?

I see some options in cpanel but it adds the directory at the end. as in http://www.mysite.com/SUBDIRECTORY/ I want it to show just http://www.mysite.com

Can i do it from the cpanel where my site is hosted? or do I have to configure it at the domain provider? as there it only gives the option of pointing the domain to name serves and nowhere else..

I could do it before from GoDaddy by masking a redirect but now I don't have that option, just wondered if there as a work around.

As far as I know, it's not with the CPanel you can do it but with the .htaccess
I think there are also some options with your host by using aliases but I'm almost sure that using the .htaccess way will achieve to do what you expect to but as I don't really know myself how it works I can't help you farther.

I don t have a way to refresh my memory at the moment because I don t have access to any cpanel but if i remember correctly..

you should be able to add a redirect where you've added the domain in cpanel (parked, sub or addon), this would save you having to find out how and what to add exactly to htaccess because this way cpanel would write/add it for you

I have tried it in cpanel but every option I choose it still shows the directory.

maybe I should add it as an add on domain.... not too sure what this does, I belive it creates a diferent account.. so maybe this may be the solution... as I said I'm not 100% sure of its function.
