Images Don't Show When Was Not Uploaded Through Forum
I will try to explain, it's very hard to me!
Well, my new user posted two images of the internet, but they didn't appear in the message.
I'd closed the permission to upload images for common users, trying to limit images in my storage.
How can I get the forum shows images of the internet?

Yes, she did it... I mean, URL directly from the other site. The image was not upload to the forum.

So, if they are not uploaded, they do not count towards your server's storage space. Unless you have enabled thumbnails, in which case Icy Phoenix will generate smaller versions of your images to display inline.
If they have used the img tag, it should work normally. Do you have an example page where it doesn't work?

And if a website has hotlink protection, it will not work either. I agree on the thumbnails part.
If you can provide a link to the image your user is trying to use from the internet, I will try to replicate the problem on one of my own websites as well.
**UPDATE**
I have tried to post images from the internet form 2 different image hosting websites and both worked. Here is 1 example. This image is hosted at imgur.com :

I think the user took the URL directly from other website, not an image hosting... Either way I had to change the images, I uploaded them in my server storage.
I will ask her to post other images in the same way, and then I'll come back to give you the example.

Re: Images Don't Show When Was Not Uploaded Through Forum
Ok. Sounds good.
Websites have a thing called hotlink protection. That is where I can not take anything from your site without your permission. By doing this, people are stealing bandwidth off of other websites. It is frowned upon. I use hotlink protection on my sites (well, when I had websites).
if the website that the images were linked from has hotlink enabled, the images will never appear for you. And I have even coded websites when hotlink protected to show a picture of a guy shooting someone the middle finger and call them a thief.
But please do let us know how the person got the image and link, where they got it and how they posted it. That will help us narrow it down some for you hopefully.
Take care and have a blessed day.
Ray

Hmm That is kind of odd it is showing no thumbnail, yet if I click, it opens up lightbox and shows the image. Let me check some things out. I'll get back to you today hopefully.

Maybe you have some settings on your server which prevents the image to be shown.
It doesn't work with any image?

Maybe, MG, but do you know where can I find this setting? Because I was looking for it but I've got nothing.
