Php And MySql Inquiry

Subject: Php And MySql Inquiry
Hey fellas, I just am curious where we stand with php7 and MySQL 5.7 ?

server running both of those options and plan on doing some testing today or tomorrow if time allows. 2 other projects I am a member of just stopped dead in their tracks because of these 2 engines. Good thing for me I am hosted at Site5 and they will allow me to roll back or forward my versions as I choose. :mricy:

Did you try mysqli? I know IM has it, not sure about IP ATM. Porting should be "easy" anyway.

Those other projects were just because and not really important to me. This one here (IP) and IM is really all I bother with anymore that is important to me other than a Virtual Airline script called phpVMS.

I am in the process of setting up a quick server to test on as we speak.

Alright. I guess I'll need to take some time in the upcoming months (it's gonna get busy really fast with christmas so soon) to make sure everything works on PHP 7.

I hear ya on the busy thing. I got my server up and going last night with all upgraded mysql and php. I hope to get some installs done today and do some testing. My issue is, I am not sure what php 7 and MySQL 5.7 (or equivalent MySQLi) is doing away with. I will say this much, I do have a server running locally running:Icy Phoenix using server resources:

Apache Version: 2.4.23

PHP Version: 7.0.10

MySQL Version: 5.7.14

Thus far through my clicking links and trying this and that out, so far so good. I have not hit any snags as of yet.

Speaking of busy... Nah that's another story for another thread.

That's very good to hear :-). I'm glad Icy is in such a stable state.

MySQL version 5.7 will not allow a fresh install. Posted issue in Dev thread.

If a version is already online and SQL gets updated, it's no biggie as far as I can tell. It is only on fresh install that I have notice d so far.
