Currently we use phpbb as our main board and it is custom modded, however after seeing this version of phpbb i want use this and convert my forum to this kind of phpbb software.

Are you currently offering any convertors? My forum has over 10,000 posts and active users every day so i really need a assured convertor.

Not only would this bring more name/news to your phpbb software but gets word out faster.

ALso i run www.4aforum.com which uses phpbb Plus from phpbb.de can i also convert from that to this board?

If you have standard phpBB then the update script can already upgrade your board to XS.

We used to have also a convertor from Plus... but we should review it.

Which version of Plus do you have?

the theme we use is a custom theme that is XS and uses extreme styles mod and others and is a validated xs theme an edited version from cyberalien's original themes.

The plus version i have is phpBB2 Plus 1.53

and can you explain how exactly to update to XS with the standard update script.. i have the latest phpbb version 2.21

You sould not attempt to update your live environment before having tested the update on a local test server. But I think you know that.
The update script updates the database and adds new tables and columns and config entries to existing tables. Running on plus could leave your database with orphaned tables and columns and this might become a problem. Especially orphaned columns will be a problem because if a script tries to update that DB entry, it'll most likely result in an error.
I think Antonio had a script to update from Plus to XS040...

I think that Antonio Mercurio or fare85 could help you with this, since they are supporting Plus in Italy.

Anyway if they can send me a working script, I'll add it as an option in the standard update script.
