hi!,
I need some help to clarify some doubt before IP upgrade......
Upgrade From Old Icy Phoenix Versions
---------------------------------------------------
10.Remove the following folders (make sure you don't have in those folders some files you may need for some mods you have installed, but in any case you should have a backup Backup Rules!):
* adm
* includes
* language
* templates
In here MG means Remove above Directories know ? then what happen to other folders (block,cache,cgi-bin)?
11.Remove all files but config.php in your Icy Phoenix root (make sure you don't have some files you may need for some mods you have installed, but in any case you should have a backup Backup Rules!).
in here MG means .. Remove all files without config.php file ? or anything?
12. Upload all Icy Phoenix files (all but config.php) in the same folder where Icy Phoenix was installed and running. Pay attention that all older files eventually still there must be replaced by new ones.
in here MG means Upload new IP files without new config.php file ? and all icyphoenix files means with or without directories(only login_ip.php like files) ?
Thanks

Now I get "hacking attempt" for any page I try to go to including admin. I have tried to restore the backup,, but now still getting hacking attempt. i assume because of the album path thingy. I do see that text in the htaccess file. Is there any other fix to this.
I already ran the update file so I assume my database is now updated but the forum will not open on old or new code.
I had a beta version and only did the upload of the new files (except htaccess, config php etc) and ran the update database script. I can put the old code back and it works but then obviously I get sql errors since the databse is updated but the code is referring to old values.
I use 1&1 for my hosting. In the past when i got hacking attempt errors it was since my host forces php4 unless we add a line in the htacess file to force it run php5,, are there other places now in the code that I need to force to run on php5?

I think you must encore the index.php file in ANSI format (because of ">?ì")
and If in local you have compression problem, disable the gzip compression in database

HI,
I need some help here. I want to to do a fresh install but I'm at a loss on how to do it.
Do I install phpbb3 first and then install IP? If so how?
I'm lost with this.
Thanks

Nope, you don´t need to install anything else before.
Just make shure you got a Database avaible, and upload all files and folders in BINARY Mod of your client to your server.
Everything else is explained during install proceedure
