Post Advice Needed - Forum Upgrade + Site Move

Hi All,
I am currently running Icy Phoenix 1.2.0.27c on one site that has several other Domains aliased to it. I now need to move the site to one of the aliased Domains and would like to upgrade to the latest version at the same time.
All Domains are on the one Linux / Plesk 8.6 server to which I have root SSH access.
My problem is I cannot "unalias" the Domain I want to use for the new forum as once I do quite a lot of people will become lost!
Would anyone have any ideas on what might be the best way to approach the upgrade/move?
The forum is a reasonable size, 1000+ active members, with a DB of around 70MEG.

Cheers,
Bob

Can't you move the forum and in the old path edit the .htaccess file and redirect all the page to the new address?
