When I was re-arranging the forums- moved forums up, suddenly my website went totally blanco-
Does anyone have some first aid suggestions for me?
* edit- the older version of a forum that was running and that I wanted to make ready as a temporary solution appeared to have the same problem- the forum went white on the sceen when I deleted a forum...........
weird?
Thanks!!!!

 Re: Website Went Blanco
otherway you can also try to amnually clean your server's cache.
- The way to flush Icy's cache (server side):
- Go to your ftp/file administrator on your hosting panel.
- Get to /cache (relative to Icy's root path!)
- Delete all files BUT .htaccess and index.html files! DO NEITHER drop children folders!
- Go to all the folders contained in /cache/ and delete their contents as described in the lne before.
Remember to do ACP maintenance and optimize all your DB's tables!
Hope that works out for you...

 Re: Website Went Blanco
And the same thing happened two years later- like now again. I looked up this one again and have done what you said- but- there is NO .htaccess there in the files.....
Where do I have to look for that?

 Re: Website Went Blanco
Well you could try finding those in your most recent working back-up, but I think it would help more if you describe the problem a bit and what you did right before you had this problem.
also your set up would be nice to know.. home server or hosting company? etc etc

 Re: Website Went Blanco
-hosting company-php 5 etc-
I am using IP13053 for two years, it has never been down. I usually do the maintenance and no problems there-
I was deleting a forum - after that the forum went blanco-that is all what happened....
It really sounds like a simple problem but- heck, I tried all the things above and nothing seems to work..
I can set up a new forum- but the problem stays........

 Re: Website Went Blanco
Yes, and it did not help-
some where someone mentioned .htaccess- but there is no file like that in the cache.

 Re: Website Went Blanco
there should be one in ..
YOUR ICY DIRECTORY/cache
and any folder in that cache has a similar one on my local setup (cache/forums , cache/posts , cache/sql , cache/topics , cache/users) if those are missing too ..try putting the same file there (I checked the content and they are all the same)
whatever you do ...DON'T overwrite the one in the root directory!

 Re: Website Went Blanco
This is strange- when I try to upload it- it says there is already a file called htaccess- but it does not show....

 Re: Website Went Blanco
That probably means you have hidden dot files (.htaccess=dot htaccess)

 Re: Website Went Blanco
I can see them through my ftp program- It seems they are all there, but not showing-
This is puzzling me- the whole site went white just because I deleted a forum- I wonder how that comes-
And do I need an FTP program to upload IP to the server- is it possible to have a zipped Ip there and unzip at the server?
