Highslide Youtube

Subject: Highslide Youtube
I was looking at an old topic: http://www.icyphoenix.com/viewtopic.php?f=32&t=4051 which describes how to use Highslide with YouTube video.

I would assume the overall_header.html has since been replace with, overall_header.php (?)

In any case I have no idea where to place the BBcode mentioned in the post:
Code: [Download] [Hide] [Select]
<body>
<div>

<a href="http://www.youtube.com/v/{TEXT}" onclick="return hs.htmlExpand(this, { objectType: 'iframe' } )" class="Highslide" ><img src="http://i.ytimg.com/vi/{TEXT}/default.jpg"></a>
</div>
</body>

This doesn't even jive with the IP bbcode php anymore...

I also realize this was from an adaptation of a phpBB3 code and some of the code maybe, 'outdated' in terms of the latest IP. However if anyone can point my in the right direction or simply inform me that it's no longer possible, I would greatly appreciate any input.

Thank you in advance,

Dan

Hi Nothere,

If you look closely you can see you've found a topic in the phpBB 3 MODS And Styles section of the forum wich means this is for phpbb only i think :wink:

Hello, Joshua203

Thank you for the quick reply. I see, oh well, I thought I'd to ask anyway.

Much appreciated and thanks again,

All highslide does is hide the video behind a link (or image) until you click it. ;)

You could do that with <spoiler> tags by adding them to the youtube video html stuff in bbcode.php.

Then the spoiler would automatically be added to each youtube video.

You could also add it to ALL video's and or streaming too. :P

Hi, mort
Thank you for the reply. That's an interesting idea with the spoiler tags ; funny too if I were to do that with all media :mricy: I guess what I'm looking for is a way to use a javascript popup function, along with the darkening of the background. I can do this with a CMS block, but have no idea how to implement something like that on the forum.

In any case, I appreciate and thank you for the suggestion. I will try your idea with the spoiler tag.

Many thanks,

Dan :)
