Post Icy Phoenix Site Map In Robots.txt

Can someone explain to me that in the default download of icyphoenix - WHY robots.txt IS, or needs to be redirecting to:

Sitemap: http://www.icyphoenix.com/sitemap.php

As it appears to do nothing other than redirect the user agents to glean the last or latest information introduced into icyphoenix.com at the expense of the site that Icy is actually installed on. ?

Any user is advised to edit that on install Mort, so I guess it's there as an example..along with other important stuff.

Fresh Install Instructions wrote: [View Post]
7. Customize files and settings to correctly setup your site (some files needs to be edited manually, while most of the options may be set in ACP and CMS). Here is a short list of some files you may want to edit manually:

◦.htaccess: settings about your domain and basic Apache settings.
robots.txt: change the path of your sitemap and customize basics bots rules.
◦favicon.ico and images/favicon.ico: customize your site icon.
◦includes/constants.php: customize some constants values and set your main admins id.
◦language/lang_XXX/lang_main_settings.php: some important data about you, your site and basic settings.
◦templates/default/overall_header*.tpl: you can customize here some parts of the appearance of your template (some of these settings may be changed in ACP and CMS, so you don't need to edit these files).

OK, you've caught me with my pants down because the last time I read any install or upgrade instructions was when Icy Phoenix was at about version RC-1*.*17

But the main gist of my question is:

"Why does robots.txt need to include a site-map to icy phoenix - Or why should it be deemed necessary as a part of the default install"?

When that should be left to the "Icy Phoenix" web-master to create one if they so desire and not have to delete something that is more or less foisted on them that they may not want in the first place?

Well seriously, my guess above is as good as your's and we'll just have to wait for MG to reply, I'm not even sure if a variable could make the user not have to set anything there.. there's quite a few bot rules in there BTW and I know a few could cause some errors/problems

It doesn't matter any more my friend as I promised myself that after six or seven - the next Viagra salesperson, scum-bag or porn-pusher that I had to delete would be the last of me having to look after something that I don't have the time to do and is something that scum-bags have absolutely no respect for. So the forum has "Bit the dust".

The forum itself was never warranted or a necessity in the first place as I never spent or had enough time to do everything I wanted to do that can be covered at my hobby site simply by moving some stuff around and renaming some of the nav-buttons to point to what I need to get across.

I still have some work to do, and as I am under no illusion that what I'm doing is nothing other than an effort in futility that my grandchildren and their friends would rather play "off-line" - I ain't going to break an arm or a leg in speeding up the next public release (version.1.0), which by the way is about 10 days away.

And that will be me - over and out - and I'll leave it others to play with, modify and check to see if I've sanitised it enough to stop the hackers from screwing it up.

Maybe you are right... I can comment that line in the default file, to avoid "lazy" users non-edit.
