SOLVED Major Avatar Problem

Subject: Major Avatar Problem
Its just plain and simple to explain. None of the avatar features/functions work. When you try to do off site avatar it says image doesnt exist when it does.

Re-compile the cache for all themes.
Try again.
If not solved, continue.
Re-upload the images folder.
Set the chmod properly.
Re-compile the cache for all themes.
This should solve your problem.

Im pretty sure its got something to do with the .php but I did compile, and reload images and complile and it still does not work. I am currently using the stable version but I did try the latest version and it had the same problem. Im asuming since there are only 4 or so topics and only 7 people from what I see having the problem that it has something to do with maybe our hosting server or sql database?

Ask your hosting company if it allows the showing of all the grafics extensions icy allows.

Ill try that I guess but I dont think its with the host. I mean, the avatars work on phpbb and its pretty much the same on IP. I can force avatars but Im not gonna upload and put in avatars for all 60+ that will be on forums. There is just something wrong with the coding or sql connecting. Here, I will post a video to show whats happening.

Reupload the templates. Remember to set chmod correctly.

Did that still no go... Ive also tried it on 3 different website host and it doesnt work. On any of those.

The only thing I can say that could be effecting it is uploading with my mac. Macs cant read anything with " . " infront because that signifies that the file is invisible. Now when you upload stuff to the web such as through ftp, when you upload a folder containing files with " . " infront such as .htaccess files, it does upload those to the server. It reads them but does not show them in plain sight. Thats the only thing else I can think of because im sure that all 3 of the consecutive host couldnt all have something wrong with them. So I will try uploading the files on my PC (love the mac though :mryellow: ) and if that doesnt work I will put the zip file on website and let the server unzip it instead. Thanks for the help novice, it has been greatly appreciated!

Sorry to double post, but none of that worked either :(
I dont know what to do, Everyone is waiting on this site and without avatars it wont seem friendly.

I compared this from what I saw in phpbb3 avatar functions file and there a some differences but not many. The differences I did see though I tried to fix them in this functions file but it didnt work. I believe that this file isnt connecting or inputing the information into the database right. I dont understand how everyone elses is fine and mine is screwy. I did try this on a different host though with a different database and it didnt work on that either.

In my opinion your avatars folders are not writable.

Try again to set CHMOD to 0777, maybe with a different FTP client.

I just moved site to a different host. Everything works fine now so far. Thanks anyway!
