New Member Have Problems Logging-in
Subject: New Member Have Problems Logging-in
I've been hearing that new members on my board have a hard logging-in when they first register. I log-in to their account and get in no problem but then they try to and they are unabled to do so. They say it says they're logged-in but when they go to post it says they're logged-out or something like that. Any idea what is wrong?

It sounds like a cache and cookie problem to me?
Ask them to clean their browser cache, and try again. ;)

Another one could be how they call the site:
http://www.icyphoenix.com
or
http://icyphoenix.com
I had that problem earlier in my Orion (just thinking of changing to Icy Phoenix). Normally both sould work, but seems to a problem on some providers. So they should try both variations and see, which one is working for them.

Hmm good ideas, I'll try this sometime. But if I get new members how will they know to do that if they just joined and I have no way of telling them this XD

Actually I think this is the browser cookie system registering http://www.icyphoenix.com and http://icyphoenix.com as being two separate sites. Firefox in particular is prone to this behaviour. (Cookies are used to store the current session id of the user).

If it's only now affecting one member, I would be asking what browser they are using; and the limit of their expertise with browsers - caching and cookie clearing ?
And if it ain't FF or IE7 - I wouldn't be bothering trying to fix it. ;)

It's more than one member and they have everything that I do basically. IE7 and whatnot. I think it's a coding problem, it seems like when you first register and try to log-on they can't get through. But if they try like 100 times then eventually they do. The one did after like a week.
