Problems With Chat Archive, Profile Links And Editing A Post With Pictures!

Subject: Problems With Chat Archive, Profile Links And Editing A Post With Pictures!
Greetings!

I thank all of you guys who have helped me over the past few weeks!! I truly appreciate the awesome support IP gives!

I have developed a couple interesting problems.

First, when I click on the profile link it take me to the RSS fedd. Here is a pic (notice the URL):

rss1

Sometimes it just goes to a blank screen, I'm a bit lost right now.

The second problem is with the chat archive. When I view it, the smilies are missing. Here are a few pics:

chat2

I nothiced that the URL is all screwed up. I searched thru a bunch of tables and can't see where the problem is!

It also doesn't let me go to topics when I click on then in the forum. It just refreshes the screen it's currently on.

The last problem is when I try to edit a post. I created a post with a picture and when I click the edit button I get this:

edit

Sorry for all the questions! I appreciate any help you guys can give me!

If you need access to the board, please PM me for the username and password!

In the ACP change your site url to:

Domain Name: h**p://***.mtasc.us

Script path: /

Because this works where others don't - h**p://***.mtasc.us ;)

So does this! :P

h**p://***.mtasc.us/images/smiles/icon_mrblue.gif

And you really should have the forum software in its own folder - Not in the public Root. :(

Subject: Re: Interesting Problem..
There isn't anything else in the root, so I'm confused why it needs to be in its own folder. Can you explain a bit more?

I'll try changing the URL and report back! :D

EDIT: Tried your solution, cleared the cash, deleted the temp files and history and it didn't work...

Well you certainly have path issues?

If paths are written in UNIX style ./../etc and not VAR style {FULL_SITE_PATH} etc, then the UNIX paths become wrong when the root folder for IP (EG. h**p://***.mtasc.us/forum/) is missing.

Try adding this to the relative path in the ACP:

ACP > Configuration > Site

Smileys Storage Path

Path under your Icy Phoenix root dir, e.g. images/smiles

Then post back the path properties of the the smilie - once you have changed it.

I guess I'm confused as to what you want me to change. Here is a snapshot the User and Forum settings:

site

As for the site being stored on the root... I host the site on my own server. I didn't think there would be an issue with IIS.

The reason for checking / changing the paths is:

The URL - path in this pic is impossible, and why it is like it is, I have no idea. :(

I am as lost as you are. Here is a screenshot of the table:

table

Where is the ip_ajax_shoutbox pull it's information from?

I'm not lost and it pulls the info from here:

/includes/ajax_shoutbox_inc.php

What I would recommend is that you create a forum folder in the Public Root:

Server permitting - zip up what you have in the Public Folder and copy / move the zip to your url/forum/ folder and unzip.

Either way, make a COPY of your forum and paste it to your url/forum/ folder, delete the .htaccess file and replace it with a fresh one from IP.

Clean out / Remove any Non-Icy Phoenix files and folders from /forum/

Rename the existing .htaccess in the root of the Public Folder to something else.

Download a backup of your database and edit the Script path: / to Script path: /forum/

Create a new DB and upload the modded SQL

Goto your (FTP - Whatever) url/forum/config.php, edit it to manually connect to the "New" Db

Goto the copy of your */forum/ with whatever browser you use and see if the problem still exists?

This should either answer the problem or create a BIGGER one. ;)

Meanwhile you haven't lost anything, but you have gained a "Test" site. :P

Gotcha! I'll give that a try and report back! At least it's only a copy and paste thing for me!!

EDIT: No change. The only thing that is different is the URL..

http://www.mtasc.us/forum/_/_/www.m...on_mrorange.gif

Well Mate,

It's time someone sent a PM to MG bringing this thread to his attention. As I don't understand why it is adding the second URL to the first. :(

And you can PM him. :mricy:

WOOHOO!! I get to be the guy to forward this on!!

I'm way confused... I'm going to try a fresh install later on. If that works, I'll update the thread!

Thanks for all the help! I appreciate it!

Devildog,

Would you mind editing your topic to be more specific of your problem, please? "Interesting Problem.." is a little vague.

Thanks!

Sorry.. My bad! Consider it done!
