[XS 0.58b] Who Is Main Admin?

Subject: [XS 0.58b] Who Is Main Admin?
I need to know who is considered the MAIN admin? The user with all protections, who can't be disabled and so on... id=1 ?

Subject: Re: [XS 0.58b] Who Is Main Admin?
The admin username selected when installing the forum.

Subject: Re: [XS 0.58b] Who Is Main Admin?
So the users with ID=1 ...

and if I change a user's id with another one? The problem is: I am the first admin, I want another user to be the first admin and I want me to become a normal user. How can I do that?

I don't want to delete any user, just want to give my privileges to another one.

If I change the user ID I will have problems with posts and other things... or not?

Subject: Re: [XS 0.58b] Who Is Main Admin?
userid=2 is main admin

but if you change id's you will got lot's of problems

because post are assigned to id's :P

Just as I thought...

I need to change the main admin (id=2) with a normal user... is there any way to do that?

Hi Vortex,

what do you think of changing only the name to Admin or Sitemaster.
And give the password to the new admin... how can change it ;-)

You must creat a new account and loose all you comments.
But you post them as admin... therefor its correct.

Could that be a way for you?

Maybe there is a way to change the post via myphpadmin from number 2 to XX
But that I don't know.

I'd like to apply a less invasive solution :mrorange:

I need user A to chang id with user B... but I want everything else to stay untouched: pms, posts, profiles and so on...

Uhm... I think it could be simpler: what do you think about manually modify the hardcoded protections to id=2 and changing it to another id?

Even if they are a lot, I don't mess around with the database, do I?

Would it not be enough just to change the user_level to 1 for a new Admin ?

there are certain things that are set only to user_id = 2

Exactly... what do you think about changing the code directly?
