Post Google Bug: Sitemap.php Not Reconised

Hey Everyone

Hope this is a simple question but I haven't been able to figure it out. I know in ACP you can create a yahoo sitemap and be able to submit it too yahoo for indexing. For a google sitemap you have the <sitename>/sitemap.php you can execute and it will show you your forum sitemap on the screen. How do you take that info and create the sitemap.xml?

Is there something that I am missing that creates that file so google can scrap that updated file every week or so? Do I have to just copy/paste the output of sitemap.php to a file and rename to xml and upload it? I just want to automate this process right now I have to build it every 1-2 weeks to keep sitemap up to date for google.

Thanks for the input

hey,

you dont need to create a special sitemap.xml for google... google understand the sitemap.php very well...

i can say it because i have registred my sitemap.php at google sitemaps... and google reads this file

so i dont really understand why you want to have a xml file

We could make a php script that makes auto-generated xml files that gets the latest pages when using the posting.php file for editing, replying or adding new topics.

Please before submitting bugs make sure that it is a bug.

sitemap.php it is working fine, it is an XML file, look at the headers.

Zuker,I know it isn´t a icy phoenix bug.

If you know there are other pages with a non-icy phoenix board system and google don´t download their sitemaps, let us know.
