Post FAP SUPPORT - FAP Problem: Uploaded Images Do Not Show Up

Hi Folks,

I've got a problem with FAP 1.4.1. All pictures are uploaded correctly (without any errors). The pics are available in the upload folder and thumbnails are generated automatically. But: I can only display some of the images in "big".

My Gallery is here: http://www.tauch-gruppe.ch/phpBB/album_cat.php?cat_id=6

- Upload (Simple single upload) is without any error messages
- Pictures are stored in the upload folder successfully
- Thumbnails are generated automatically
- Rights in the upload directories are set to 777 (according to instructions in the manual)
- Even Download works perfect with the download button (including those pictures, which are not displayed!!, see Link)

My defined upload criteria are:
- Max. 200000 Bytes
- Max. 1024 * 768
- JPG, PNG and GIF allowed

Question:
Why is it possible to click on picture ID 65 and 67 to display them "big", while it does not work with the other pictures?
Example:
- Thumbnail for pic ID 66 is generated correctly (Link)
- The pic ID 66 is available and can be displayed, using the direct link to the upload directory (Link)
- But is it not possible to click the image "big" (Link)

I am a little bit confused....

Thanks for your help!

Yours,
Christian

I checked out similar topics in the forum and saw this one: http://www.icyphoenix.com/viewtopic.php?t=837#_Single_Post_View

Could the deleting of the .htaccess files help to fix my problem?
But why do some pics work and others not?

Kind regards,
Christian

You might try removing the htaccess file, but I'm not confident that is the problem.
Not only is the full pic not displayed but nothing below the header is showing either .... strange

I deleted the htaccess files, but without any improvements. It stayed the same.

But you are right with the missing contents. It seems, that the corresponding tpl file is not displayed. But why does is sometimes work and sometimes not?

Thanks in advance
Christian

Is very, very strange

Upload the attached image to your album and see if it will display properly.

test_image.zip
Description: Test image
Download
Filename: test_image.zip
Filesize: 29.12 KB
Downloaded: 179 Time(s)

Hi Artie

Thanks for your support!!!!!!!
I uploaded your file and guess what - it works....  (see pic ID 68)
What did you change?

I changed the rights for this gallery. Now you can upload any pictures by yourself.

I tried to change the original file in differnt ways, but I did not achieve a success:
- Tried once again the original file (pic ID 69) --> does not work
- Changed the dpi (resolution) from 506 (!!) to 72 (pic ID 70) --> does not work
- Additionally changed the image size to 750*500 (pic ID 71) --> does not work
- Additionally reduced JPG-Quality in Photoshop from 8 to 3 (pic ID 72) --> does not  work

What else did you change?
It is not because of the red cross?????

Yours,
Christian

OK, I think, that the problem is basically not FAP, but the pictures. But as long as it is not clear, what's wrong with the pictures, I will have problems with uploading and presenting them.

I tested several possibilities and found out:

- Image size, resoution, JPG quality do not have an impact regarding my problem
- Comparing the original files with your test file and my earlier photos, I found a difference regarding the attached information
(EXIF). While your test file and my earlier photos only contain certain data, the original files (which do not work) are full of information.

Could that be the problem?

SOLVED!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Sorry, for the posting after postings, but my brain seems to work only after submitting postings

I disabled the "Show EXIF information of picture" (in German: Zeige EXIF Informationen des Bildes, last entry in the album configuration) and all pictures show up without any problems.

The extended EXIF information seem to be the cause of the problems. Is that something which could/should be fixed in FAP?

Yours,
Christian
