Post How To Add Flash Or Countdown Clock To Signature

I am having an issue trying to include any images in our signatures.  I am sure it is a setting somewhere that I have messed up, so I am taking the responsibility  LOL.

Here is what happens we get the "No Thumbnail" block or picture for any images we post.  But the main issue is the signatures.  I have enabled all BBCode setting in IP settings.  But the following code (similar code on other countdown clocks do not work either)

Code: [Download] [Hide] [Select]
<center><embed src="http://www.countdownclockcodes.com/cd/ccc-vacation/show.swf?clickURL=http://www.countdownclockcodes.com/&clickLABEL=MySpace Countdown Clocks&flashLABEL=Countdown Clock Codes&skin=http://www.countdownclockcodes.com/cd/ccc-vacation/skins/16.jpg&text=Carnival%20Cruise%20to%20Cayman%2C%20Cozumel%2C%20Belize%2C%20Honduras%21&untilColor=10027008&textColor=153&datesColor=255&year=2008&month=9&day=26&hour=8&minute=0&second=0&x=6&y=77" quality="high" bgcolor="#ffffff" width="300" height="200" name="countdown" align="middle" wmode="transparent" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" pluginspage="http://www.macromedia.com/go/getflashplayer" /><br><small><a href="http://www.countdownclockcodes.com/">MySpace Countdown Clocks</a></small></center>

I have tried using a couple of the bbcode buttons like the flash one but when you save it, it removes most of the code and this is all that is left when you go back and view what it saved

Oh yeah the site is www.punkposse.com/ip

Code: [Download] [Hide] [Select]
<center><embed><br><small><a>MySpace Countdown Clocks</a></small></center>

first try this

 allbbcode

and if this dont help , there is one other thing : signatures are by default set on 255 number of characters ...so that also can be a problem , so change also that ...

BTW , maybe this topic also can be usefull http://www.icyphoenix.com/viewtopic.php?f=21&t=3969

EDIT:

dont forget to put at least 500 number of characters in IP setings

 sign

reason ,i think  you have to use bbcode , not html like in your post .

That was it,, had to use the full bccode with no html.  To be honest I thought since the "allow html" setting was set to yes somewhere else that would apply to signatures.  I ahd already set the allowed length to 500 or so.

I notice that other php based sites allow the html in the signatures though.  Things such as the gametracker banners that most players like to have in their signature are html based and they don't provide bbcode type code on their sites for easy posting to ours.

Is there a way to make IP allow basic html code in the signatures?  Or is there an easy rule to follow to convert the html to bbcode?

Thanks the code you converted worked for me

Thanks,, that certainly helps I did not know that was posted here.  Now for the other question though,, is there a way to allow IP to use most fo the basic html codes in signatures?  The only reason I ask is that many other types of boards seem to allow the html code since the gametracker type banners and countdown clocks seem to only produce code in html.  Understand this is no biggy to me,, just if it is possible to force the IP board to allow it then I will just do that.

See if this helps you, but be sure to read the warning in the topic:

Thanks,, I see now why IP chose to not allow the html.  It at least explains why many other php based forums allow it but without those modifications IP does not.
