Well i just want to hide a portal and have a homepage of my own that loads during the site. As i search at the forum i found that you can change it like this.


And if i rename the "index.php" that leads to the portal to "portal.php" and create a new file with index.php or index.html would this work and lead to the new file i created without damaging the forum or CMS.

The better way is have a index.html with a meta redirection, a javascript redirection (with meta !), or a PHP redirection (if you have PHP on .html files)

PHP redirect lowers rank on SEO if not made correctly.

You will have to make the server declare a permanently moved error in order not to drop pagerank.

i just want help on how to remove the portal cause the portal makes the site load pretty slow. so i want to replace with something that will load faster.

To make it load faster just remove all blocks that are using too much CPU.

If you use just HTML blocks you will see how the Home Page will become faster...
