Big Trouble Upgrading Icy - Theme And MODs
Hi there!
Long time has passed since the last time I visit this Icy's central site. And my return is due to a big issue which will probably force us to upgrade our 1.2.0.27c Icy, to the newest one. The issue is it seems we got infected with the X-skip.cn trojan, that one which open a huge pdf which close Adobe Reader when it tries to open it. I don't know if this is because our old Icy version or anything else. Anyway, it seems it's not critical, but we don't like how it looks, so we hope the new installation of Icy with clean files will solve the problem before entering in some google's black list.
So, what's the issue with this? Well, the same one which prevented us to upgrade earlier: the new Theme structure and our MOD's adaptation to the new recoded Icy version. We have MODs mainly like the Random head banner (sorry, I didn't find this one around here) or the Medals one (now closed), which I don't know if are now completely fine with Icy 1.3.0.53 and I'd like to know this before starting the upgrade. And about the Theme, I guess the new version won't support or convert old Theme, so we'll have to start the Theme from scratch, right?
Thanks in advance for your time.

Regarding mods you should try to install them on a local copy and check if they are working. Unfortunately we are understaffed so we cannot check all mods.
Regarding themes, it shouldn't be tough to update your current style, just compare the CSS and try to use the default tpl files. Unless you edited tpl files a lot, then your update should be easy.

Yep, that's what I'll do when I finish with the templates structure and texturing

It's true, now that I'm almost finished with templates I realize the updating hasn't take too much work. At the beggining I thought it will be hard because I believed the new installment would be closer to phpBB3, and as far as I know this system work entirely with div tags instead of tables. Now I'm happy to have updated because now we can set a RSS with no problem with special chars and we have better tools for ads. So, my congratulations for all of that and my gratitude for your attention.
@Spydie
I know about the medal one, it's the same which can be downloaded from Dr.Who's site, right? And thanks for your help, man

Ok then, I'll look for it in your site, thanks for the info . By the way, the BD tables and lang files remains the same? I mean, the only changes are about programming variables and such? I tell you this in order to know if we can be able to keep the data from the previous installment or not.

Ok, if it works well with the language package I have, I'll send it to you, because I see you didn't post it in spanish.
