Post Image In Signature

When i try linking an image from a URL in a signature, it does not recognize the bbcode (or so it seems) and just puts out "[/img] http://image link [/img]" (minus the "/" in the first set of brackets). Is there a way to fix this so it will detect the code? As far as i know, all settings for signatures are turned on, but i may have missed something.

Edit: Just did a little more messing around with it and it seems i cant upload image files either, it gives an error stating "only jpg, gif, and png files can be used" the files i tried uploading were jpg and png files.

MG at that time agreed that it should be mentioned at submitting the sig but i m sure he had no time to do a silly thing like that

Edit: and he also hinted to it here BTW Spydie

Unfortunately there are some sites which do not accept images in signatures...

You want an example?

By chance do you know a site called icyphoenix.com?

problem is that the user does n't have a way of knowing that now, i mean ..buttons are there and no info message prior to trying to put an image ..it does not even tell after failing why it failed

well uuuhm thats just my opinion

Edit: i remember i wasted about 30 minutes just because i did n t know why it kept failing

Edit2:
i looked a little deeper and this amazed me even more...

Signatures
8. Signatures may contain images, but may not be any larger than 300x100; 468x60 banners are also permitted (within reason - they must not be to advertise a company product). If your signature is larger than the allotted size given or deemed unacceptable by staff, you will be requested by a moderator to resize or change your image. Please also try and keep text signatures under 5 lines. Failing to comply with a moderator's request will result in the removal of your signature.
