Post Album_otf.php File Sorting

Hi all,

I know there have been topics that have touched on this in the past, but they have gone unanswered for quite some while, so I thought I'd try again.

Album OTF, I'm sure it's supposed to be alphabetical, but mine doesn't appear to be.
I've tried testing with files a.jpg b.jpg etc, and there is some kind of pattern, but it's not alphabetical

Here's my address:

Thanks,

McManus

I may be wrong. Can't find anywhere it says this is the case.

How are my pictures named?
While in the OTF gallery your images maintain the image's filename as it's title. As the images are uploaded to any main album category they are named and numbered sequentially, according to the conatining folders name. Once moved to the main album, the pictures can be renamed if desired.

They are numbered in the sequence which they appear on album_otf.php.

For my purposes, I need them to be in the correct alphabetical order. I don't mind what name they get once uploaded, but they are in a random new sequential order and I need the original.

I've played around myself, trying to sort arrays, but no success as yet.

If anyone knows of a hack that could help me with this, I'd really appreciate it.

Thanks,

McManus

I checked 2 of my sites and I can confirm this.

Sorry, I can not help you, but maybe other people can do this.

What a shame

I'm using nuffload to do multiple uploads at the moment. Doing about 100 at a time seems to be working ok.
I'll love to be using album_otf instead, cos that's such an excellent feature.

I didn't realise nuffload was still on here, but I had a quick search around the forum and found it was commented out in the ACP.
A flick of the switch, and I'm back in business

Thanks for trying TheSteffen

I like OTF too, but I donĀ“t use it because you can not give permissions to the folders.

But it is OK for me. I use Excel to create the SQL code to insert 1000 per one click

Anyway... if someone has some freetime, can he look into the album_otf file for alphabetical sorting.

Thanks

I'm glad to see that someone discovered it!

Regarding album_otf unfortunately order is linked to file creation time on the server.

I'm sure I have written somewhere the code to sort pictures alphabetically, but I need to integrate it correctly also in album OTF.

I'll add this to my long To Do List!
