Hi all,

I've a problem in my site and it is that I can't see any image which have been posted with the bbCode [ img ] [ /img ]. At the end of this topic you can find an example:

The problem is related with the show "miniatures in messages" because when I deactivate it in ACP > Icy Phoenix > Images in messages I can see the images without problem but many of then are too large and that's why I want to use the tool "miniatures in messages".

I've tried already many options and also updated my IP to the version 0.53b but the problem is not already solved

Has someone any idea how to solve it??

I think it's something related to folder permissions... try to check again the correct permissions. Please, also check CMS permissions and try to set ALBUM access to everyone (this doesn't mean that everyone will be able to post images...).

I'm not sure what you mean Spydie, do you mean your site on the same host or the imagehoster?

What I noticed on one of the (missing) example thumbs in post 1 is that it tells me there is no permission to access

this file has got 644 permits and is in the root folder.

The working test you made above is going for files/thumbs/......  not image_thumbnail.php

i know, but for some reason, theres no thumb created for external images

Maybe I'm saying something stupid now but would that mean one or the other (the file or the directory) needs higher CHMODded permissions?

folder permissons are OK ( checked and rechecked) file permits should be 644 in the root folder.

this worked on another server without probs, with the same files and IP config.

I allready checked the PHP configuration on my server, and can´t see anything strange.

I´ve checked that of course.

I told you before, that my very same site, worked with the same config and files, on another host, without any problems with external images. It´s here on HG where we have this problem.

same happens on a fresh install, with quick settings on MG recomendet.

And this should work without any image problems

It´s defenitly an server prob, cause external images don´t work on any of my sites.

( Including Joomla, social_engine, PhpBB)

Interesting, my site is making the thumbnails for external posts without a problem. I could post my PHP.ini file if you think that may help. I do not have the "use small images" enabled though.

The funny thing is, I just made a few test installs of .53a, .53b and 2.0, and the external images worked.

But then i went to ACP, used quick settings "MG suggested" , and the thumbs went in the sh*tter on 53b and 2.0

so its defenitly something with the config, but what.

so now i´m going to take the ip_config table before and after quicksettings, and compare with Win-merge.

Lets see, if i find the error.

Edit:

it look´s like, if you use external images, like PostImage, thumbs have to be switched off, because if you switch thumbs on, the external thumb is´nt shown.

something enters in conflict there
