how can I set up automatic backups? I have checked the cron jobs but it didn't give me a solution. I searched the forum but couldn't find anything helpful.

The best and safest way is: to install mysqldumper and run a cron from your host (provider)

I was going to until I tested it. I did now and I had to realize that my hoster doesn't support perl -.-

So mySQLDump is not really an option. I can use CronJobs though. But is there another way? I used phpBB3 before and I found the plugin "AutoBackup" to be very useful. Is there anything like that for IP?

Can you please tell us your hoster.
