I am setting up a new site using black pearl style.  I haven't used Icy Phoenix before and am finding my way slowly around the system, so far I like what I see.  

Problem:  I have no title or description in the header.  I do have the codes in place but nothing showing?  Is there a setting that I might have missed?

Don't ask me why this has been done, but that part seems to be escaped.

I noticed that and removed them, then there is no alignment.  I guess I will have to go chase the css and see what I can do.  Thanks

Trusting that we are talking about Icy Phoenix?

From what I can see is that the "Old phpBB title and description" that used to be part of the header has been superseded by adding the "right-side info" as a block advert in the CMS.

Else copy overall_header.tpl from the "default" to the pearl folder and edit it manually.

There should also be a VAR or two that you could add to bring up what you are trying to do, but with my lack of experience these days with IP - you'll have to dig it out.

That was it, now I have an image as the title and its working perfectly just as I wanted.  Many thanks for your help.

Yes, I am using Icy Phoenix but I haven't used it before, trying something other than PHPBB this time.  I am enjoying the learning experience and the amazing abilities of the sites CMS, etc.  This is a nice piece of work.

I am sure I will have more questions and thank you again for your help.

In Icy Phoenix 2.0 you are able to setup site metadata in ACP, but you need to decide whether you would like to use DB input or LANG files entry (lang_main_settings.php). This has been done for users having a multilanguage website that wish to keep different meta data based on the language being selected.

In any case you can add other "stuff" by using global blocks in CMS.
