It's one of manny other images in standard XS.
So I think you don't have upload all files and images correctly to your host.
Please try again and let us know

I think maybe you should PM an admin or mod your ftp information and let them check your files. He is right you are definately missing files.

(or) I'm not sure what altervista is, is that a free host for phpbb boards? If so I have seen alot of problems with modified versions of phpbb when using free hosts. I think maybe something to look into after the 1st suggestion here.

Altervista is a free (but the db) host but not specifically for a certain forum (eg: forumfree which provides some kind of premodded invision) even if it gives the possibility to have an automatic install of a phpBB board.

But I don't think is a hosting problem, I used (and use) altervista for any kind of site and never had problems. I directly tested an XS on it and all worked fine

Do you mean the images weren't included with the zip file you downloaded?

Or do you mean you installed the site on your local machine in reference to the ftp suggestion?

Either way I probably can give you a temporary fix until someone pin-points the problem...

Open:

templates/ca_aphrodite/overall_header.tpl

Find:

Code: [Download] [Hide] [Select]
<link rel="stylesheet" href="templates/ca_aphrodite/style_{TPL_COLOR}.css" type="text/css" />

Replace With:

Code: [Download] [Hide] [Select]
<link rel="stylesheet" href="templates/ca_aphrodite/style_blue.css" type="text/css" />

Notice the "style_blue.css". You could change this to any of the existing style sheets. ie: style_black.css or style_cyan.css

Again this is just a temporary fix and I'm not quiet sure what affects it will have, but it should get your site looking decent until we figure it out.

Yea... I know, what I told you to do is basically to skip the variable that loads whatever style you have chosen and to use "one" of them directly to find out wether or not it is truly a missing css problem.

The folder has all those different stylesheets because you have a choice of colors/styles with that single template.

You said you tried to edit the file following my directions and it didn't work. So I am backing out of this one until I could see for myself to ensure proper edits/uploads

Sorry

Ok, I can't stand it. I'll have you try one more thing LOL

Have you ever moved the your installation to a different folder after installing it?

Did you fill out the correct path names when installing?

Try this...

1. Go to Admin Control Panel - ACP

2. Under "Configuration" Click "Server"

3. Script path  -> make sure the path here is correct.

Example URL and correct path

www.website.com/forum/index.php

If this was yours you would put..

/forum/

in the box beside "Script path"

---

Now scroll down the page and do the following...

1. Cookie domain    <->   Needs to be .yoursite.com [color=red]Note the period in front[/red]

Example: www.website.com would be .website.com

2. Cookie name   <->   This doesnt matter, something short

Example: www.black-fusion.com cookie is something like "blkfsnforum" or "blk_fusion"

3. Cookie path   <->   Again this needs to be the same as above - http://www.yoursite.com/forum/index.php

---

I would have just given you the cookieMOD mod to do all this for you, but I doubt it would work with the security the package has.

Try this and let me know

I've just solved your problem... I went to http://www.allfreeware.altervista.org/phpBB2/templates/ and I got an altervista error in which was said that the .htaccess file in that folder has been renamed in htaccess.txt because it didn't work properly... and now everything works perfecty
ok, now you can start to thank me...

yes, it's normal because altervista.org blocks direct link to the images stored on his server... try to copy the url of the image and paste it in the browser and you will see the img
