News And Announcements - Website Updated

Post subject: Website Updated
Hi all,
tonight I have updated the website with the latest dev release of Icy Phoenix, which I hope I'm going to release as a beta in few days (after I have fixed at least the first bugs that will be spotted).

Please, let me know if you are having any kind of issue on this website.

I also would like to let you know that I have added some extra antispam measures, which unfortunately are going to affect even "trusted" users. In particular every user having less than X (I'm not disclosing the exact amount...) messages will not be allowed to insert urls in posts (will be masked) and its personal informations will remain hidden until he/she will reach X numbers of posts. I'm really sorry for this measure, but we need to fight spammers with a more strong approach. I hope you understand.

Thanks,
Luca

I am sure all our regular users have noticed why you need to be more strict with anti spam measures, so I think/hope everyone will understand a little extra inconvenience

GREAT JOB MG!!!!

There's no need to apologize about the extra anti-spam measures : it's completely understandable. I just have a question about it, regarding the future default package : will it be possible to define it or is it something coded in raw directly in the files ? I mean : will the admins have the possibility to define " how much " post(s) a user will need to get his profile revealed and be allowed to post URLs ?

Anyway, thank you for the hard work done until then. Honestly, I can't wait for the release *even if I'm following closely the GIT commits* ^^

What about just watching the code :p ? I expected that from you, at least. So not, it's in board config. Aren't you translating files ? So, don't you keep them uptodate :p ? /joking

Damn ...I should have noticed this sooner (but it felt like a holiday )

Since no or not many registrations followed after the site update, I thought it was best to make a test registration today and my worse nightmare was confirmed!

It is not posssible anymore to register at icyphoenix.com right now!!!

Since the error report is so big I will not paste it in this post but attach a text file below

I will try to find the best email address to contact MG to attrackt faster attention to this post ASAP but I will not be able to do that before midnight ... So if anyone else wants to link him to this post ...Please Do!!

PS ...I had to wrap it becuae TXT is not allowed to be attached

I can not do everything, because I dont have ftp or DB access.

Looks like a temporary way to solve this is to empty all sessions. Only a guess.

Thank you everyone.

I have updated this website again and released the first beta... there are still many bugs, but I hope to be able to fix most of them thanks to this beta release.

Thanks for your support and contribution.

Amazing work Luca!

And of course everyone else that contributes here one way or another!
I wish all software developers and teams were as friendly and awesome as everyone here.

FYI Hans (incase you did not read or remember) ....
Mighty Gorgon wrote: [View Post]
As per each beta release, this version is still unsupported, and you should not use this version on any live site (unless you really understand the risks in doing that!).

You should test this beta release only on your local testing environments and reports bugs and feedback so the code could be improved before final release.

Yes sir, I plan on waiting a while before I update my live site, honestly I am already really happy with the old version.

I still have local VM's and other domains/sub-domains I can play with it on though.

This website has been updated again... I have implemented other measures to avoid sessions table to explode... and also some other minor fixes.

Please, report if you find anything not working properly.

i was logged out again. automatically login does not work for me. more bugs in session?

Yros [ Mon 24 Oct, 2011 22:26 ]
Post subject: Re: Website Updated
No, it's juste that you can define the session length in the ACP which means when your session is over then you are disconnected (you can set it for 1h such as for 1 month etc.).

Mighty Gorgon [ Sun 30 Oct, 2011 10:43 ]
Post subject: Re: Website Updated
I have updated this website again with a new version (many small fixes and some new pieces of code).

I hope to have fixed almost all problems in sessions now... maybe some left over due to old cookies that should be sanitized over time (I have reduced the time for some features in cookies...).

Autologin should work within 3 days... otherwise you get logged out. I know could be a bit annoying, but it is needed both for security reason and testing purpose.

It is still possible to define it through the ACP, right ? It's just that " you " set up to 3 days on this site, right ? ^^ Anyway, thanks a lot for your dedication to this project and nice work :3

Not a big deal I don't think but the sourceMappingURL is deprecated in the updated jquery and already exists somewhere else.

Timestamp: 15/04/2014 4:39:19 PM
Warning: SyntaxError: Using //@ to indicate sourceMappingURL pragmas is deprecated. Use //# instead
Source File: http://www.icyphoenix.com/templates...y_compressed.js

I'm glad I don't do this any more.

It's updating it from the 'previous version' that has caused the problem.
