Post subject: Banners With Custom Code
Hello forum.

I have a request. I need insert banners in differents sites of my page. This banners (differents sizes) will be loaded (for size) from database and select a randomize banner for each site. I unknow how to do this, because i can modify differents files (forum, viewforum, viewtopic) and then transport values to template, but... a variable template for each banner?

If you have another idea, please, help me.

Thanks.

Hi,

This is usually Icy Phoenix's CMS really shines.
You'd usually create a block with your HTML values, and add that block to your Global Blocks so it shows up everywhere.

I figure you want the block in "Header Bottom".

There's also a specific section for banners:

http://www.icyphoenix.com/cms_ads.php

The link won't work because SID is required, but you can easily add your sid or go into CMS and check last tab on the right "Ads & Sponsors"

Thanks you, but this solutions are not valids!.
Correct! You can create a block, but you "only" can add html code. I need php because i need create a routine that it will select records of DB. Then, with randomize options, it will select a banner and then create a valid html.
This is the reason because i cant use blocks or adblocks of Icy.

Thanks!

@MG: Is it possible "override" functions in Icy Phoenix?

Ah, I see what you mean now.

This is still possible easily, you can create blocks.

These are in the blocks directory.

You need a .cfg and a .php
There are many examples to look at in that folder, but if you get stuck, we'll help you.

Then you'll be able to use the block in the CMS :-).

Thanks Informpro

No problem! If you need to reuse that block on many different forums, you can even make it a plugin, IP will find it :-).
