I'm pretty new here and have decided to use and get behind the project. I have set up a website and its Hosted free. In fact my whole project has only cost me $2.99. (I had to buy the Domain Name).

The main problem with Free Hosting is that you are not usually allowed to use the SMPT servers. .
All-in-all I'm pretty happy with the Host I have but I wasn't going to let a little thing like not being able to validate my members accounts stop me.

I have been a programmer for nearly 30 years...... yes!

I have worked a get-around for this, and it allows Emails to be sent in HTML format as well.

Here's how it works.
I have made a couple of mods to some of the php code, essentially putting in a secure backdoor to the site.
The program I have written runs on a PC (in the background) and securely logs in and retreives any new registrations. It then formats the output into html and sends it via your Gmail. The program can be set to query for new registrations as frequently as you want.
It also allows insertion of your logo's and multilanguage text, username,password and a button for the validation (user_id,act_key code).

As much as I don't like Google they have created a new service that allows free emails from your domain name. e.g. or whatever your domain name is. (That is my email ). So it can look absolutely professional and not cost a cent. They allow up to 100 free accounts and 7 Gig of space.

If I understand correctly it allows you to use a GMail account to send emails from your site?

Standard PHP mail() function doesn't work with your host?

No, the php MAIL didn't work with my Host. Well it was worse than that, it did infrequently, so I could't tell if it was sent or not. I tested this quite a bit and only managed to get 2 emails sent out of 10. Thats why I opted for this solution. I see you tried it?

I'll keep using it until I can find a way to pay the Host. China is amazing t times....... they blocked the site so I can only access it via VPN.

Off topic but have started the chinese translations....... a big task!.
