Icy Phoenix

What is this mod for?
This mod adds the ability of taking user's country from IP. You can easily manage countries from ACP and add/delete IP ranges.
You can show user's flag everywhere near to their username, or only in viewtopic. You can also set which flag you want to show (user's profile or user's IP) in case of having the two of them available. You can set configuration from ACP -> Configuration -> Site -> Abilities.
Also, you can arrange memberlist by their IP country.

Who created it?
This mod was created by Marco (3Di at phpbb.com). This mod was released here.
I've adapted it to Icy Phoenix, but this mod I show you has not all the features the original mod does. I think the current ones are enough.

Installation instructions

1. Make a full backup of your forum, including database and files
   This is strictly necessary because this mod can damage your database.
   
2. Download the attached package
   
3. Delete or rename images/flags folder
   
4. Upload all files and folders located in root/ directory to the root of your forum
   
5. Login as administrator and run install_ip_cf.php (http://www.youripforum.com/install_ip_cf.php) and follow the instructions. Please use a browser that supports javascript and wait until the installer ends.
   
6. Delete install_ip_cf.php file and ipcf_data folder
   
7. Open file ip_country_flag_1.0.0B2.txt included in the package and follow the instructions
   
8. Clean cache
   
9. Enjoy your new implementation!

did u mean ipcf296a.txt

I'm sorry, I mixed files

In the old package it was original mod file (much bigger and longer). I've updated the package with the correct file.

Well, now you can't go back. It's because of the first error, so enter to the install like this:

Updated all the IP database to make most of the IPs recognisable.

Please try to use a proxy to enter in your account.
If it changes your flag, that unfortunately means you are not in ip database...

The page seems to be damaged, but I downloaded ip to country database there.
When it gets repaired and you enter there, you'll be informed about in which country you are.

Welcome Marco,
glad to see you here.

I guess no one asked because Icy Phoenix, even if phpBB based, requires some tweaks for each mod to be integrated, and not all authors are willing to help in integrating their mods into something different from "vanilla" phpBB installations.

If you are willing to offer help even for Icy Phoenix installations, we may ask you to help in properly integrate your mod into latest version of Icy Phoenix.

People asks me for help in this topic because it's me the person who has "studied" all you've coded in order to adapt its functionalities, added little modifications and removed some others to make it work properly on this great CMS. I was not trying to get problems with you nor with any other people, if you felt offended because of anything I said/did, just tell me and we can solve the problem.

I don't think Marco was accusing you for "stoling" his job... you did mention correctly the creator of that mod for phpBB.

Maybe I'm wrong, but I guess he would have only be contacted before including the mod here...

so... i have a problem with this mod...
all my users that haven't especified their coutries appear with the unknown flag...

so i want to report several bugs...

1.- some flags are not called correctly
example, the board call to flags/small/mexico.png when it should call to flags/small/mx.png
2.- ip recognizing is not working correctly (happens i wrote before...)
3.- some flags are bigger than others...

can you help me to fix this?

As for any MOD I've ever installed, uninstalling is as easy as backing up the tracks. Replace the files you backed up and undo any database changes. Be super careful when playing in the database though! You've been warned!

yeah, i know backing up a can undo 50% of the MOD but i dont know how to undo the changes in the database

Back up your Database

SQL these five lines, and ignore any "Key Error" messages.

Change the ip_ prefix to yours if it's different.

1. SQL

DROP TABLE IF EXISTS `ip_cf_ip_to_iso3661_1`;
ALTER TABLE ip_users DROP user_cf_iso3661_1;
ALTER TABLE ip_sessions DROP session_cf_iso3661_1;

2. Then SQL this one.

ALTER TABLE ip_config DROP show_user_flag_everywhere;

3. Then SQL this one

ALTER TABLE ip_config DROP flag_priority;

so... this is for?

What Lopalong posted is how to remove all traces of this MOD from your database.

Also, don't forget to replace all the files you edited with your backup copies!

well that is because it is not meant for phpbb3 but made for icyphoenix based boards m0hamed

maybe you can find a similar mod in phpbb.com's database
