RC1 Version first edition

Media mod allows members to upload videos and songs to your site and places them in categories of your choice..

Added Features
  1. you can upload videos from your pc and uses embed code from other sites making it easier to add any movie site offering movies to watch. Including youtube, google video anything.
  2. Added flv video player to make viewing videos better in all browsers.. and added preview image before video plays
  3. Fixed the quicktime video IE7 bug and now working in Firefox
  4. Removed AVI upload as it not good for security and can be converted to another format
  5. Completely mg_themes compatible
  6. Able to download videos and songs.. acp option
  7. Search for videos, songs
  8. upload a video image or album cover for your file
  9. when editing you can now edit your image and see the image you already have
  10. able to open up the media in a pop up so you can watch a video and still carry on viewing your site
  11. New editions Automatic email sent to admin informing them of new media uploaded..
  12. All users are colourized the same as main Icy Phoenix

Completely incorporated into new ICY code system.. for faster functionality and ease of use

Not sure about how big a file you can upload my server allowed me to upload up to 7mb but maybe that can be changed

Quick notice this mod will not work so well with ICY PRO theme as it need tpl files edited separately I will try and have a look when I get the chance

new install just follow the install file copy over the files and do do you chmods and update your database

upgrade to this version you need to reinstall all files and follow the install file but you do not need to change any data in your database all should work as before

UPDATE

fix some errors in the files... you need to add this code to templates/default/simple_header.tpl

OPEN templates/default/simple_header.tpl
FIND
Code: [Hide] [Select]
<script type="text/javascript" src="{FULL_SITE_PATH}{T_COMMON_TPL_PATH}js/ip_scripts.js"></script>

AFTER ADD
Code: [Hide] [Select]
<script type="text/javascript"src="{FULL_SITE_PATH}{T_COMMON_TPL_PATH}js/AC_QuickTime.js"></script>

Download attachment and copy all files over replacing what you have... no database changes

MPG/MPEG do not work... until I can find a solution to this...

Downloading files...

  1. mpg/mpeg
  2. quicktime
do not download no fix at this time...

flv files will download but you need to add the extension .flv after download... no other fix at this time

all other files download correctly...

Enjoy

Well, we can't have this mode without colorized usernames. :D
So here there are. Just copy and replace files.
This will also fix that no "upload" image bug.

Also I've noticed these 2 bugs in template
That ">" to much.

image2

And nav-header missing class

image4

So just replace files in your template

the upload image uses mg_themes/images/ice/lang_english/upload.gif... if you are using another theme then you may have to make the image..

When i look in the install file it says..

Files To Edit: 7
## viewonline.php
## admin/index.php
## includes/constants.php
## includes/page_header.php
## language/lang_english/lang_main.php
## templates/mg_themes/overall_header.tpl
## templates/mgthemes/mgthemes.cfg

But in the insatll file there is no edits for..

## viewonline.php
## admin/index.php
## templates/mg_themes/overall_header.tpl
## templates/mgthemes/mgthemes.cfg

For my blank pages in ACP.could it be due to the fact is that i have not done the edit for admin/index.php file seeing as the edit is not there?

Wow Why are you making so many edits... I did say the template files in the original zip were not the updated ones... all you had to do was download the updated zip and then copy over the files...

All your above fixes are already done in the zip...

The file edits that are missing are basically to show you were your members are on your site.... I felt you they were not needed and just waste resources..

Call me stupid, but I think I'm having trouble with the CHARSET in each of the SQL commands.

Quote:

The same error happens for each SQL block I enter and it only happens with that line.

try removing

from each table code and see what happens..

To the folks that have installed this MOD, could you please post up a demo link so I can check out a posted video? I put the whole YouTube link in and the video doesn't show. I'm having bad luck with this mod...lol. The music works great, but videos aren't playing.

Post subject: Re: Media Mod For Icyphoenix
I have had the same problem with youtube vids I have found that if you copy the url from youtube for example

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=CgEIGx0JKL8 it will not show.. if you replace the ?v= with /v/

so it becomes

http://www.youtube.com/watch/v/CgEIGx0JKL8 then it works fine....

I am looking at the code to see why it is doing this....

Hey D,

Works perfectly the way you mentioned. You are a genius, so I'm sure you'll figure out the problem with using the whole URL soon. :)

Thanks for bringing this MOD to IP.

Post subject: Re: Media Mod For Icyphoenix
After looking at this I am looking at a way of using the embedding code instead and then you can use any video site that uses embed code...

I will see how I go and get back here when it is done...

Post subject: Re: Media Mod For Icyphoenix
Did you figure out how to post Google videos?

The format is like this: http://video.google.com/videoplay?docid=-4345290084946153525

I tried doing the same thing as the YouTube videos, but couldn't get it working. I see you are working on trying to use embedding code...

I'll wait patiently. :)

DWho [ Mon 01 Dec, 2008 18:38 ]
Post subject: Re: Media Mod For Icyphoenix
Could someone please test this... this should make it so that you add the embedded source code for youtube vids and any other site instead of using the url address...

just copy over the files and run the database query and that's it... just fill in the code in the upload page in the file_url space...

I have tested this on 2 sites and it work but just need someone to test it.... back up the files you are copying over...

thanks

Post subject: Re: Media Mod For Icyphoenix
What video format are using for the media player..?

I need to just add the format in music_page... I only have flv, quicktime, flash and wmv on my comp so if anyone has any other formats let me know and I can add the code..

Regarding cback just add
Code: [Hide] [Select]
define('CT_SECLEVEL', 'LOW');

above

Code: [Hide] [Select]
include($phpbb_root_path . 'common.'.$phpEx);

will solve that problem... also you might want to add the above code in music_upload.php, sadly I do not know of any other work around..

Also I missed the quicktime javascript form the package if all the formats that any one are using are shown here I can rewrite the code upgade the package and do a quick bug fix file as well...

Post subject: Re: Media Mod For Icyphoenix
I have the embed code working fine on my test site I just need to know what media formats are working or not..

I have quicktime, mp3, wmv, flv, flash, wma, midi works in firefox but not IE

wav does not work....

some of these formats will not work on your sites as I need to test the file for the codes to work...

I will add the updated package as soon as find out what formats others have got to work or wish to work...

The problem on the formats a lot do not like to be embeded... I downloaded realplayer which I hate and that wanted me to fill out a load of info before it would let me use their software.. so I uninstalled it...

If anyone has a problem watching anything let me know what format they are trying to watch so I can test it.

Once we figure out what can be viewed and what cannot I can emend my first post with all the correct code and what video formats work

With the new embed code working all the sites you named above will work....

I am going to upgrade my first post with the newer version... I recommend you undo everything and then start from scratch to be honest as this was not as easy as I first thought and there are a lot of changes..

I have updated my first post...again sorry for the inconveniance just want to get it working right.

Not a problem if we iron out the bugs then we can have a good finished mod...

here is the fix.. I missed a bit of code for IE

open music_page.tpl and find

Code: [Hide] [Select]
<param name="flashvars" value="file={U_SONG}&image={U_IMG}&shuffleOnLoad=no" />

replace with
Code: [Hide] [Select]
<param name="flashvars" value="file={U_SONG}&type=flv&image=preview.png&shuffleOnLoad=no" />

Post subject: Re: Media Mod For Icyphoenix
That works Dwho more bug, upload embeded code is fine, but if any reason needs to edit it even just edit title or description/lyric then video won't play anymore. It shows code only.

example: I want to edit title or description/lyric only and after finish edited. It won't play video anymore and it only shows embed code.

I thought I fixed that problem... my bad...

open music_edit.php

and find
Code: [Hide] [Select]
$song_url = str_replace("'", "''", htmlspecialchars(trim($_POST['song_url'])));

replace with
Code: [Hide] [Select]
$song_url = str_replace("'", "''", $_POST['song_url']);

that will fix it....

Also regarding your pop up where do you want it in music_cat... and do you want to be able to still go to music page...

This will not work with the chart mod you have as the code is not the same but it will open a pop up in the same way..

Let me know

Follow the install guide and just upload the templates file from the root/templates/mg_themes folder and upload them to
FK_nuke template folder...

there should be no problem but if there is give me a link so i can see what the problem might be..
