Hi all,
I have finally started creating an album for phpBB 3.

The process will require a lot of time because I want to do things properly.

I will need help with several tasks... some easy and some hard... so if anyone is interested in helping me, please contact me.

There are also tasks for non PHP experts... I need only people really willing to help...

Depending on the total amount of time and resources spent in the creation process I will then decide how to release and support this mod.

P.S.: I'm expecting around 5 to 10 people per month asking expected releasing time or if they will be able to upgrade... and so on... please redirect those people to this post. If you are asking one of the previous question the answer is: "I'm currently coding this huge mod alone... if you want to speed up things, try to ask if you can do something, either donating or helping me with some tasks."

If you think I can help you in some tasks, then tell me what I have to do!

You know I'm not a PHP expert, but I can understand & create PHP code perfectly; that means I can code and help to find errors if there are.

The only problem is that I have only 2 hours a day to help you because exams are very soon

Well guys... good news. I finally had some time and could do the work I promised Luca to do.
The ACP config is now 80% done. However, there is still alot of fine tuning required before I'd say it's 100% done. And as Luca adds new features, new config values have to be added.

German translation will be next for me.

Yes this album will have the same permission system of the forum.

At the moment there are no personal galleries... because I still have to design that feature and how to implement the code using the new permissions system.

The help I need now is creating a full install script for DB and ACP modules (there are some demos @ phpbb.com), if anyone is willing to do that, I will pass all the necessary files and give appropriate permissions to access the development area.

Conversion will be possible.
I have a big FAP gallery myself (over 10000 photos in about 300 categories, including personal galleries), so I also have a big interest in a good migration tool.

this is the major reason i haven't moved to phpbb3. please assign me some tasks (non php expert).

Currently I need help with PHP code, al the rest is in the HOLD ON list for now. PHP comes first any other task needed.

As soon as I have a basic working version, I will post here so who would like to help in testing will be allowed to do that.

It is not in the features list so far... but it can be added.

What is important now is to finish the basic version so it could be tested.

Unfortunately I have been busy in these days because I had some jobs to complete. I hope to have more free time soon.

I'm up for helping out. I have other things to do as well but they could tie in well with this anyway. I can certainly manage a couple of hours each day. I am not a php guru so don't look to me for programming but I have got experience as a bug catcher and tester and am happy to help out wherever you need to fill a gap.

A basic version of the gallery is ready, but there is no MODERATOR CONTROL PANEL (Pictures can be edited, but not moved...), there are no personal galleries and the unread marking is not working properly.

Apart of that the gallery is working.

I have no time now to complete it. I will do when I have enough free time... and now I don't have any estimate about that...

Regarding help, I need PHP capable people...

Regarding donations, I think no one is really willing to donate for this...

I have just updated the Alpha version to phpBB 3.0.4

MCP and personal galleries still missing.

Unfortunately what I miss is someone who is able at least to read PHP code and pointing me in the right direction for bugs and new features. Because I can code, but I don't have the time to fully follow and support a project like this, because Icy Phoenix is too much "time expensive" for me right now.

When I say I can't code, I do have limited skills having run my own php servers, in the process I did install plenty of mods into a vanilla php using the instructions provided, (that was before I found Icy Phoenix). I have also had some limited success in debugging my own sites.

That was all with phpbb2, php version 4 and MySQL 5, we have of course jumped up a couple of versions and I am still trying to get me head around the way the new systems work.

Still if you need me I am available.

When I have finished working with the new server and the new IP version, I will try to work again on new album.

No promises though.

I am a good at reading/lookign over the php to find bugs, im not much use at fixing complicated php bugs but can fix simple ones, if i would be of any help would like to see the album released

I would love to see this as I run a Guild site that is in need of something like this. We attempted Gallery2 but it does not integrate all that well. I like the look of your Gallery Mod but you noted that it is in dev still so I do not wish to add it to the system. Any sight on the goal of this yet?

If both are true, I won't work on the album mod anymore... if there is a good product out there... what's the sense to make another one?

I was totally excited to see the icy phoenix release email, thinking i would come here and see progress on FAP for phpbb3. Alas, i've waited so long for nothing.

Any idea if this phpbb album you speak of offers a convertor for FAP? This is one of the things long awaited for with the phpbb3 album...

AFAIK that mod has a converter from FAP... Tom already converted from FAP successfully, so you may want to ask him.

I'm sorry for not having worked on FAP any more, but even if I already coded most part of it what it's missed need a lot of attention and testing... I don't have the time to perform everything yet.

I may reconsider it in the future, but I don't want you to wait forever. I really don't like to disattend promises... and with FAP 3 I already did twice.
