phpBB 3 MODS And Styles (Not Compatible With phpBB 3.1) - Menu Question

Post subject: Menu Question
First off, I am very new to forums therefore I have limited knowledge in this arena. So Please, don't talk over my head.

I have download and installed phpBB3 and then installed Red Milky Way. After looking at Icy Phoenix - ColorizeIt, I saw that the menu was on the left. I have spent all morning looking through the post but can not seem to find out how to implement that on my pages.

Can you please explain that to me.

Thank you,

Dave

you mean that thing on left side of forum ?

menu
main links
info
...

if yes , than you instaled wrong forum

icy phoenix is one thing , and phpbb3 is something other - they are two different forums

if you want that , you will need toinstall icyphoenix , not phpbb3

hmmmmm,

Well I told you that I did not have that much knowledge when it came to forums.

So, just so I completely understand.

I should uninstall phpBB3, then download Icy Phoenix and install it on my server. Then I have to move Milky Red to the Icy Phoenix directory.

I would then have to completely set everything back up including having people register and re-add their post.

ok,

Thanks

If you would like the same features this forum has, you will need to install and use Icy Phoenix. You can upload Icy Phoenix to any folder on your server and any style you choose to use should be placed in your templates folder within your Icy Phoenix installation.

I see you have only four posts, four topics, and four members. It would probably save you a major headache by just starting over and asking your users to register a new account again. This will help from having to play around in your database and bringing posts, topics, users, etc. tables over to your Icy Phoenix installation. If you had 2374987238 members and 2837498723874823 posts, you would definitely want to try your hardest to copy over the important database tables to your new installation. (I'd hate to lose that much by starting over.)

It's not fun having to remove and install another CMS solution, but IP is worth it.

Let us know if you run into any problems and we'll be more than happy to help!

Ok, but since I see you are a supporter of conservative ideas, I thought you might do it for me. <smile>

I'm sorry, but we can't install the software for you. I will say that we can help you with any questions you may have about the installation process.

PhpBB3 offers the possibillity to install a board3 portal to your side - then you even have those menu bar on the left side (i am working currently to get this setup on my page and could make some good progress, can post a link if needed - so you can get a first imagination how it looks like).

Yes I would be very interested in seeing the link.

Thanks,
