Post subject: Who Is Online
Hello,I hope this is in the right place.

I am a admin on a site and I'm having a problem with a mod i added to the rainbow pearl style.
I'm running a phpbb 307
and the rainbow pearl 307

I just added a mod.
Guest in the past 24 hours

The mod works fine but now we can not see the members online
Take a look at the screen shot.
I have gone back and checked all my edits and everything is in order.

Does anyone know where i went wrong?
Any help would be great.

Thanks.

hi there,

please do a bit of reading in the mod author´s thread, you are not the only one with this problem so yes this mod is the cause (probably if installed using auto mod?¿), the solution might allready be there

Greetings, .. Joshua203

Ok, i understand.
I'm just kidding.
I have done all the research and have done all the edit right.
I did not use automod.
I have installed this on many forums with no problems until today.

I have been writing code for years and this is the first time i have come across this type of problem.
As you can see from my post count, i have never asked for help before.

I'm asking a simple question for help.
If no one knows the answer, then fine.

I'm from Romania and speak good English, so I apologize ..
At the bottom of each forum is a list of online users, register, visitors ...
Does anyone know how can I make my display all users who have entered the forum in the last 24 hours, but down to show me five minutes?

I do not know what file to change, not destroy anything.
I would be easier if you tell me where to change something like:
Find the file "x" and where change is 'y'.

Hi Costy neamt,

it is mucho more easy

go to acp/general tab/load settings and change "view online time span"

then click submit and tadaaa

keep in mind .... the higher this time is .. the more processing is needed on your server to make it work

goodluck,

Joshua203

Post subject: Re: Who Is Online
thanks for the reply Joshua203, but this look. If you look on the forum to which I put the link, you will see them appear (data based on users active over the past 5 minutes). If I change my look in the ACP data is based on users active over the past 60 minutes, solves nothing. On her show data based on users active over the past five minutes and actually really look all users of that day.

try to purge the cache refresh and clear your browser?

please let me know if it works , if not work i can try and look deeper for you

costy neamt [ Fri 23 Apr, 2010 15:08 ]
Post subject: Re: Who Is Online
If you make changes to the ACP and 15 minutes, who's connected to occur (data based on users active over the past 15 minutes). I want to change during the ACP, but occur all active users who have entered the forum today.

I deleted and I refreshed and nothing.

i have tried to modify my own test board to ... there it seems to work and look ok

Post subject: Re: Who Is Online
Not my forum.
Who's ON LINE show visitors in the last five minutes, but does not look right. Show all users who have actually visited the forum TODAY.
Get it? Have changed something.

Post subject: Re: Who Is Online
yes i think i understand , and this forum is very busy , looks like it is all day visits shown

i must admit i do not understand why this happens but i googled and found this link, maybe try or wait for someone very smart to help ?

sorry i just do not know why it looks like this

edit:

the link i found in google on this topic is
http://tracker.phpbb.com/browse/PHPBB3-7064

Edit 2:

ok , you say this is not your board and they cheat? lol

and you want to cheat too?? let me know if that is what you mean

costy neamt [ Fri 23 Apr, 2010 17:50 ]
Post subject: Re: Who Is Online
Yes.

Yes, cheating. And I don`t know how.
Thanks for the link, I read.

Joshua203 [ Fri 23 Apr, 2010 18:15 ]
Post subject: Re: Who Is Online
cheating is bad you know??? hahahaha

in language folder ... common.php
Code: [Hide] [Select]
'VIEW_ONLINE_TIMES' => 'based on Visitors active over the past %d minutes',

replace the
Code: [Hide] [Select]
%d

with whatever you want

set acp to 999

goodluck

Post subject: Re: Who Is Online
I did change, but the problem is not remember the name of those who were on board.

Joshua203 [ Fri 23 Apr, 2010 19:50 ]
Post subject: Re: Who Is Online

Now read this:

Post subject: Re: Who Is Online
well if you mean you have this mod installed.... i do not have it

but i can hardly imagine removing %d from the language file would make you loose the other mod

you could try setting acp lower than 999 .. maybe it is just to much for your server?? or maybe that breaks the other mod?

i must admit i do not know

you can easally revert the edits above if all else fails or maybe wait again for someone smarter than me

i have no time to test run this other mod for you, sorry

Edit .. by the way i do see the users online names in you site

costy neamt [ Fri 23 Apr, 2010 21:23 ]
Post subject: Re: Who Is Online
I have no mod installed on forum.
My forum shows name a few users ,but is to few.
We had 200 unique visitors today.

Joshua203 [ Fri 23 Apr, 2010 21:26 ]
Post subject: Re: Who Is Online
ok now i understand better, maybe it got reset because it is now set to 999?
or like i said maybe 999 is to much for your server, maybe the link i posted would make it work better?

wait one day and see if it works?

i don t know really why this happened to be honest, i do not have this many users to test

maybe it was to easy thinking of me but like i said it looks ok on my site

if you want to revert (go back to old settings ) you can put the %d back in the language file and set acp to 5 or 15

! please read again .. i edited the post !

costy neamt [ Fri 23 Apr, 2010 21:49 ]
Post subject: Re: Who Is Online
%d I put 300 not 999, server support until 10.000.
I modified and wait until tomorrow.

Post subject: Re: Who Is Online
well i m very sorry to hear that, it would have been nice ..however i do not understand why i do not have the same trouble (because i left it like that on my boards to see what would happen)

my advice now would be...

set everything the way it was before and wait for someone that knows

or ask the same question at phpbb.com

again i m very sorry for wasting yours and my time on something that does not work for you
