I thought it would be nice to include the possibility to set from ACP a trimming value for both news in home and signatures that considers the number of lines and not words... what do you think about it? Is it possibile?

Mmm... I don't think I'll create this function...

Rows depends even on browser and display settings... you cannot force them to a desired value... unless you insert a NOWRAP which is not suited in this case to avoid page stretching. :roll:

You should live with CHARS number. :mri:

Yes I know that rows depend on browser, resolution and so on... but with a function that counts the "go to new line" chars (non so come si dice "a capo" in inglese :D ) it could be something, don't you think? In my previous Invision forum there was a function that checked the "new line" chars in signatures. That, with the overall chars limit gave me the possibility to have a better control. If I have a 100 chars limit set, a user could still have a very long signature... (I know that this is weird, but I manage a teenagers forum, you can't even image what they can think in order to bother -.-' )


Anyway, I just suggested it cause I think it could be useful... you are the Almighty (and the coder) and you decide :D
