Old Support Topics - No Thumbnail

Post subject: No Thumbnail
I know there are many threads about this matter, I have already checked them all before posting here and I haven't found any solution. Let me explain my problem:

I moved to another host a few days ago (www.dreamhost.com) and I moved my website exactly as it was in the old host. Since then I have problems to be able to see the images in the posts, even some signatures aswell. All I get is "No Thumbnail".

Here you can see an example in a thread http://www.agressor.cl/viewtopic.php?t=584

This post was made before the change of host, and the images were working perfectly, which they are not anymore.

The configuration of the ACP haven't changed, it's as shown here:
imagenesenmensajesqv5

limiteimagenti7

I've tried different configurations, I've tried some of the "solutions" that were in some forums, but none has worked and I have no idea what to do next. That's why I post here in the official website.

All the help is welcome and very well received, specially from Mr. MG

I have had the same problem ... delete .httaccess from ./files/ and ./files/posted_images and it will work.
Another solution (all credits goes to MG) is to create another folder only for the posted image because removing .httaccess result in possibility to link directly images and files in this folder (with some consequences as hotlinking for example ...).

I deleted the .httaccess files from ./files/ and ./files/posted_images, but it doesnt get fixed yet.

My questsion is if after deleting those files its needed to empty the cache or do anythin for the changes to apply.

else than those two .httaccess ive got many others on different folders that come from another host, shall i delete them aswell?

Thank you so much for answering me buzzy84

It´s better not to delete them, unless you have errors, else you want to search robots get to your files folders, getting them the possibily of taking the attached files from your members´ pm and from your private forums.

Do this only if you have problems.

Sorry to change your topic a bit... But I also am using dreamhost Hazzard and I am now getting the same problem. So were you able to fix it? And I am having a problem with avatars, are you also having that problem on dreamhost?

Hazard, sufría el mismo problema que tú, lo he solucionado modificando mi php.ini en godaddy para que salga esto correcto:

Revisa esta opción en General -> limite de imagen
Envoltorio (wrappers) URL-aware fopen
Fijar allow_url_fopen en Sí en su php.ini Disponible
El MOD puede generar un fingerprint para las imágenes en el caché de dimensiones de imagen

Me he registrado solo para contestarte a ti, ya que te he encontrado en un par de foros.

I had the same problem, fixed with "allow_url_fopen = on " on php.ini

Now i have new problem. At clicking the thumbnailed image without "Lightbox JavaScript" the image open in new window thumbnailed again.

My english is so poor, sorry
