Post subject: I Cant Assign Content Editor Permisions To A User

I follow the step and i think i do well:

- In the main page, I put that the content editor can modify the page.
- I search a user and I give her permisions of content editor.
- I conect with this user and I cant not access to the cms... and if i try enter manually to the cms, the system say me that i have not permisions to enter...

Could you help me?

I think only the administrator can be content editors, isent?

i had a problem like this.
somethings you must review are.

1.- Put the user in a group with the privileges you want t give
2.- This user must have assigned the permissions on the user settings, and included in the group from the users settings.
3.- make sure that the user is moderating (in the moderators case) someforum (in my case, until i did this the user were recognized as well)
and

I hope be useful, my problem were fixed looking these things, and cleaning the cache too (when i find a problem can't be fixed cleaning the cache i will suicide.) :lol:

The user is in a group, and is moderating... has all de permisions and nothing...does not run.

you went to the group settings to refresh the moderators list?

You must to refresh this list couse the board don't do it automaticaly, if this not fix your problem...
he should wait for mighty gorgon :lcop: .
Many minor issues like this are cause the cache is bothering :roll:
or we dont configurate fine.

try that... :wink:

ACP>Groups>Administrate groups (or equivalent (i have spanish translation) :wink: )

The you select "Administration" at right the group you want refresh, in this topic "moderators"
then select the "add/refresh new users" and push submit button
you can select "delete/refresh new users" too if you want delete one user from the group

after this you must clean the cache... (i did it and it works)... :wink:

I try add/refresh new users y group administration, and nothing... i clean the cache too... :|

My forum is in spanish to... :wink:

But you can assign permisions to any moderator user and he can access to de cms? you made it?

Oh yes
i have two moderators with these privileges.
but asign the privileges is really dificult sometimes is easy sometimes are not there. :roll:
well, what icy version do you have?

may be an old bug. or.
try to delete the temporaly files of your explorer.
many time ago when the users were not in the correct place on the board this was the solution (to see the changes)

well i think officialy... Mighty Gorgon where you are?????

I have Icy Phoenix 1.1.0.15c I think this is the problem....

I use 1.1.0.15c too. I red in some topic that the CMS system in this version is incomplete and this feature is left for further development (so it actualy doesn't work in 1.1.0.15c). I would also recomend to update. I'll do the same next week.

You're right, in IP 1.1.0.15x CMS permissions functions don't work well, update to RC3 and retry.
Keep in mind that there are some things that need to be fixed regarding CMS permissions. :wink:

So, Im working with the RC3 of IP and works great with the CMS permissions only review the last points, the only thing that is worrying me is the update of the cracker tracker and the phpbb 1.0.3 update :wink:

They are updated in IP 1.2.0.x :wink:

Sure, the new version of phpBB2 (2.0.23), will be integrated in newer IP version (1.2.0.x) that will be released soon.
