Post subject: Please Help Login Issue
Yesterday, I was showing a friend my site on his notebook at work.

I tried to login, but since I had my IP for 2 years, (always updated), I didn't remember my latest password change. I had it stored in my email from home here. So, I made a mistake on the password. (forgot a number at the end).

Since then, since I got home and tried to login, I have been locked out by Ctracker. I tried to find a file that I could change through FTP which would reset my password, and allow me to login, but no luck.

At first Ctracker wanted me to go through the visual confirmation, but the letters seemed almost impossible to get right.

I know that I am userid=2, but shouldn't there be a "super user" with the id=1? (me)

Is there anything I can do? If you want to PM me with a solution, please do so.

Thanks in advance.

PS: here's a pic of what I have been getting since yesterday:

Update:

I've tried every idea that I found here on the site.

I am now getting good at editing mysql files.

I'm wondering if there's a master switch to disable ctracker through editing of mysql files?

I am stilling learning IP and PHPBB and i have an idea which is removed your IP address manually from your phpMyAdmin. Please forgive me if you already tried this way.

Thanks so much for your help. I have taken both my ip's out of ip_ctracker_loginhistory.sql

Right now, I am following what Artie said to do, which is:

* Access your database (phpMyadmin or other tool)
* Look in table phpbb_ctracker_ipblocker
* Look for an emtpy phpbb_ctracker_ipblocker value (most likey the last entry) and delete it.

that's my next step.

This problem I have is actually good, because it's teaching me better msql php.admin.

thanks, and greets.

If You don't renember your password, you can change your password in your MySql, In the table users you can find all the information of every user, the password of every user is encrypted in Md5, but you can change the numbvers of the encryptation for other numbers with your new password encrypt, and later in your pofile you must to change your password.

The password 12345 is the Md5 : 827ccb0eea8a706c4c34a16891f84e7b you only must to change your number by this and you will be able to conect to your forum with the password 12345, and later change it

Thanks for the advice. I did that yesterday, with no luck.

I just tried it again, and I got the same re-direct to the ctracker page:

http://www.portal.thegtsaga.net/main/ctracker_login.php?uid=2

Which is the page that I uploaded the photo of.

I am beginning to think I can't get back in my forum.

If a mod or someone trustworthy here would like to help:

Try to log in with my user id, and use the 12345 password.

You would be from a different IP, so it might let you in. If so, PM me and I will give you my user ID.

Thanks. I'll use that in the future if it works.

I got some help from my host. There's a guy there who knows phpbb, but not IP.

He changed my login. He was able to log in, then he told me my password.

I was still unable to log in. I told him to log back in, turn off ctracker, then let me log in.

It worked. I am back in business!....thanks to my site host!!

Sorry I missed this question.

I'm convinced that cTracker sees the normally 3600 seconds session time as 3600 minutes (6hrs) though it's not something I've looked at, but have experienced the same problems with all the switching and swapping I do at times.

And it's usually always corrected itself after a hell of a long time, (about 6hrs) thus allowing me to get back in and change the login attempts to the MAXIMUM! "#!$*&^%" -

It maybe something that needs to be looked at, if only to ascertain why cTracker takes so long to expire the session time.

That just proves it's got good security. Credit to the ctracker folks, and MG for trying his best to build a better CMS.

I'm cool. I just learned not to play with fire. I'm here to tell you, ctracker works!!!!!

The session time is long. I tried logging in for 3 days, until I asked my host for help.

I thin it was a double MD5 encoding for the password...

Post subject: Re: Please Help Login Issue
that makes sense, because my host said he used another method, I forget the term, but it's more involved than MD5.

Of course it's a little easier when you're the host and you have access to most any option from the server side.
