Post subject: Solved-After 1.2.0.27c Patch, ACP Says Update IP

Well, it didn't do this at first.

I first applied the c patch, that's when I thought everything was ok. It was, I just didn't know it yet. (the forum width, which is another post), so what I did thinking I need to upgrade everything right, was to upload the other bigger cumulative patch.

Well, ever since then, when going to ACP, at the top, in red it states:

"Updates are available for your version of Icy Phoenix",

Any suggestions on what file to edit to get it right, and green again?

Assuming that you ran the upgrade SQL script included with the .27c patches, you should have in the ACP the current version at the bottom of the Menu Block. ?

If you haven't then you need to run the SQL update.

If you have run the script then you will probably need to clear all caches to update the files.

I did the update again, got the sql file generated, and ran db_update.php---no luck yet.

Yes, the current version is showing at the bottom, but, it doesn't have the "c".

I would rather not disable version checking.

I guess my db_update.php file creation came out wrong. I used the sql generator built into I.P. to create the php file, then I uploaded the file to my root, then pointed my browser to that page. It said it was successful, but there must have been an error in the db_update.php generation, because it DID NOT WORK, until you pointed me to the above link and I downloaded it, and after running it,

FINALLY, I had success!!!!!!!!!!!

(for the first time, it told me with the green plus signs, that it was changed!!)

by the way, do you think I inserted the error when generating the php syntax (db_update.php)???

How should I have inserted that text to get it to generate a valid code?

You probably ended up with a "Blank" db_update because you may have omitted to add a ; (semi colon) at the end of the SQL line before creating it.

I did add the semi-colon at the end of the sql command to be converted to a php file.

The spacing I probably got wrong. I did not leave a space between the line and the semi-colon.

Can you show the proper sql entry to then set it up for the php file creation?

So, in the future I won't make the same mistake. It's funny, I have updated IP a few times before, and never had this issue.

High-Acsii characters in the string will generally cause problems and need to be removed.

Myself, I seldom ever cut and paste anything directly into anything, without using Notepad as a go-between; or putting it into Wordpad and save it as Text Only.

Hey, Lopalong; Since I just rebuilt my board, after the crash, (host server php mysql data issues and NOT an ICY PHOENIX problem),

I tried again to run the update_ip.php.

I did add the semi-colon at the end, and of course downloaded the php file and did not copy anything to a text file. I used the mysql/php generator within IP.

I was unsuccessful, and since you posted the correct php file, can you give me the link again to that file? I only want to make the mysql change back to "c" after I re-installed my board. Minor issue, but I'm not generating the file correctly.

I must say I deleted the file you posted here as a download thinking I wouldn't need it anymore.
