Hey guys! IF you guys look at your MySQL phpbb_groups table...How many group ID's do you have?? Mine are incremental and I have like 1494 group ID's and 2 group types as well as Group Name blank after the 5th ID??
If you go down thru the file, you'll see the increments get screwed up and outta sync. At this moment, I have issues with not all the groups showing in the drop down menu for assigning a group or permissions list..

phpbb_groups is increasing not only for groups, but even for single users.
You're table is fine... I wouldn't mind about it.
I think that your issue is due to the fact that you may confuse User Groups with Color Groups which are two different things.
