Hi.
All my users are getting a crackertracker security alert when trying to register. CT apparantly thinks every user is trying to inject my site with a worm...please help...thanks.
EDIT: I tried to update my newly made custom fields on my profile and I got this error. I cant seem to turn crackertracker off either...haalp!!

I knew it was the custom profile fields after reading the first sentence.
For the life of me I can't remember which file to make the below edit to. I had the same problem about a year ago.
Try this:

Thank you! Worked perfectly and fast response.
Edit: wait, actually when activating an account users reported getting a

error. Sounds like a chmod? Eh? What should I do?
edit again: hmm, strange. One user reported that error, while another one activated his account successfully. I don't get this.

I have no clue what that is all about. Perhaps someone else will have an idea. :lol:
Did you CHMOD all specific files/folders upon installation? Here are the files/folders you should have already set the correct permissions for:
Set the permissions to CHMOD 777 to the following files and folders (please note that you may not have all of them in your setup):
* backup/
* cache/
* cache/sql/
* cache/topics/
* cache/users/
* ctracker/logfiles/logfile_attempt_counter.txt
* ctracker/logfiles/logfile_blocklist.txt
* ctracker/logfiles/logfile_debug_mode.txt
* ctracker/logfiles/logfile_malformed_logins.txt
* ctracker/logfiles/logfile_spammer.txt
* ctracker/logfiles/logfile_worms.txt
* downloads/
* files/
* files/album/
* files/album/cache/
* files/album/med_cache/
* files/album/users/
* files/album/wm_cache/
* files/posted_images/
* files/screenshots/
* files/thumbs/
* images/avatars/
* logs/
Set the permissions to CHMOD 666 to the following files:
* includes/def_themes.php
* includes/def_tree.php
* includes/def_words.php
Who knows...it could just be a problem with his internet?
Where is an IP coding guru when you need him? :mryellow:

I activated him manually... Some other users signed up fine. Don't know if there were any others that experienced this issue though. I'll check the Chmods now.
Seems fine... ill see if anyone else is getting this issue and report back.

Who knows? It could just be his ISP acting a fool.
Yes, please do report back if anyone else has the same problem. 8)

Another guy had this but he still activated his account. All he had to do was login. Weird.

I would probably wait until someone a little more experienced than me replies to your topic. I simply posted a topic from another user that provided a quick fix.
Sorry you are having trouble with this. :(

I think the problem is at your server. Try to contact your hosting service.
Please report us if is was a server related problem.

Pretty much I think 1/10 members are experiencing this so far. I don't think it's too much of a problem, besides, they're activated anyway - so all they have to do is go back and login, if that doesn't work I'll just activate them manually. so its ok.
