Hi all.

Got a question.

Do you think that it is possible to integrate umil from PhpBB3 in IP 1.3.0.53.???

Cause i think that would be an easier way to install all kind of Mods without having to change manualy so many files.

And how to archieve that.

2. Another question.

Is IP based on PhpBB2 or 3.
need to know that cause i wanna start with porting PhpBB3 mod of Formula Webtipp to IP1.3.0.53

1.
i hear the first time from this
what i read now about it my opinion is that the code base is incompatible with icy phoenix. you have to do a complete new write of this.

2.
none of this
it's have his own kernel it has a similarity to phpbb2 much more than to phpbb3. but there also some phpbb3 similarity.
good luck with that mod i can't make it work with icy phoenix 1.3 because i have a new and time-consuming job

  1. We need a MODs Team... if we don't have that, we cannot create a better support and integrations for MODs. Unfortunately I have no time for that... if we find some skilled users we may think about creating a better support for MODs.
  2. Icy Phoenix core code is more similar to phpBB 3 than phpBB 2. The ACP is still more phpBB 2, but the rest has moved far away from phpBB 2. Many phpBB 3 functions are already in Icy Phoenix even if many of them are not used in standard files (I use some in my own files). I have ported a phpBB 3 MOD into Icy Phoenix and I had to change only few things, but that MOD was almost stand alone...
Porting MODs correctly require a lot of time...

well

I´ll try installing that mod and then check out every error it throws

My main problem will be the template part of that. Cause templates come in html.
so i´ll have to change that to php or tpl

TPL files are HTML files... it is just a matter of file extension.

I was going to port a phpbb3 mod to icy but the admin side of it confused the hell out of me... I have been meaning to look at phpbb3 but have never got round to it...

Another thing on the list...

Just had a look at that mod... very nice but I imagine very complicated to port over....

I was looking for a very tiny mod to see if I could port it over but have not really looked yet...

As MG said a mods team would be really good here...

I have found that with iicy 1.3 any mod that you port over needs a great deal of file edits to make even links work correctly.. but it is a good learning basis...

Hi

surfing this site i found an topic in PhpBB3 Mod´s

from MG. Talking about something quiet silimar to UMIL mod

Automatic MODs Pack Creation

Look´s like he created a Mod for PhpBB3 to help to create Mod´s

Maybe he can Recode that for IP.

Would be very, but very usefull
