Post subject: MG Christmas Blue; Style Updated!
Hello everyone.
Update: This style has been updated and bugs worked out. You can download from the link below, or from my public access folder.
I like all the Christmas Themes that I've seen here, but especially MG's switchable Christmas graphics one.
I took that theme and did a different spin, slightly, and created a stand alone Christmas theme. It will also switch to Christmas (red) as all MG themes will. I used all MG graphics.
Updated the style:
I wanted to do this in case someone wanted to stay subtle with their Christmas theme as I did. I prefer them easy on the eyes.
The nice benefit to forum members, is they can choose this stand alone Christmas theme, while still being able to switch to other MG themes.
You can see the demo here:
http://www.thegtsaga.net/gearhead/index.php
Now, we have a version package that will install with no problems......(see download).
(unzip and place the gearhead_themes folder to your template folder in IP.) then go to ACP>styles management>install styles> and enjoy.
Note: the style comes with a light blue table background for the top menu bar and side menu. I changed those to gray, but it's not hard to do. Let me know if you want to do this.

Very nice! I'd love to use that theme, but your DEMO site is down:
Critical Error
Could not get theme data for themes_id [11]
DEBUG MODE
Line : 1010
File : functions.php
Also, if you can point me to the winzip file on your server, I'll download it and winrar it. After I compress it, I can put it in your first post...if you like.

Post subject: Re: MG Christmas Blue
Ok, well, that usually happens when I un-install themes just so I can export styles. I will go fix it now, and re-install the other themes now that I have the .style file.
update:
Ok, I got it back up after editing includes/def_themes.php
Note that you can switch to other MG styles with MG Christmas blue installed, and you can turn on Christmas style in ACP and it will switch to red instead of blue.
chaotic: I sent you the link. Thanks.

I've had a lot of server load for the last 2 days, so I will PM you the link to zip file.

I appreciate that. You are a great help.
I think I have a lot of img files, but the nice thing is, a user who installs can change to files built in like the header bg to green, red, or really anything he wants. I even tossed around the idea of maybe some Christmas ornaments, and some different snowflake backgrounds....Like these:
or something like this:

I don't know. What I liked about this style was the simplicity and subtlety you used in the theme. Nothing in the style screams at you when you look at it. Perfect blend of colors.
I need to go install this style now! Be right back!

I just talked to you via PM gearhead, so here it goes.
I installed the style and cleared my cache many times, but I'm getting the same look:
When I go to ACP -> Configuration -> Icy Phoenix -> enable Christmas Graphics, everything looks perfect.

Post subject: Re: MG Christmas Blue
I just checked the style file by installing it into my main forum. I'm not having the same issue.
I will go clear out my cache, log out, and re-test. I hope everything came through on the import. I had no problems.
If someone else will test it, I'll go ahead and give my public folder link if you wish to install the unzipped version that I just installed and had no problems:
http://www.portal.thegtsaga.net/public (mg_themes.style).
Also, I've noticed your cache will not clear out if someone else is on your board unless you clear out the folder through either site FTP, or FTP program.
Note to chaotic: that image you have is corrupt. Please put this image in your main image folder for xmasblue:

Make sure you have the Christmas graphics turned off. You then should see the blue header. You should only see the yellow images with the graphics turned on.
Did you try the file that was never zipped in my public folder?
I will investigate. Sorry there's some errors. I didn't have one at all!

I just read your post that you are fixing some .css issues.
I have no idea why the few select images are being corrupted. Another image that looks corrupted is little_box.png.
I'm also not seeing the snowflakes on the borders or in viewtopic.

Post subject: Re: MG Christmas Blue
The .css that's in that package, depends on MG Autumn and Icy Phoenix to be installed in your forum. I overlooked one of the .css files and am noticing now that the entire .css treatment will have to be re-written.
I have the other 2 templates installed, and that's why it's running problem free on my test and main forum.
There are images and font and link colors being used in one of the .css that is using MG Autumn (gray) images and that is causing some problems if you don't have those above styles installed.
I will totally re-write the .css, and probably come out with a new better runing file set. (for those who don't have the other templates installed).

Post subject: Re: MG Christmas Blue
Great. At least one had good luck. I can see that one of the .css in the file you have depends on the "gray" style, which is what this style started out at.
I've re-written the .css files. Thanks to Limun it works good. Now it's on my public folder I have the latest zipped version of the style. It's now a complete style independent of other themes. Just unzip and install the gearhead_style
folder to your template folder in IP.
http://www.portal.thegtsaga.net/public
You can of course uninstall the previous version if you would like to, because this version has it's very own stylesheet and is only dependent on the fap and common sheets.
For Limun, when you get it and it works to your liking, please look at the style_xmasblue.css and see if you can add the more 3D menu bar, and the bg files for the left menu. I had trouble writing that in. But I assure you, this one is trouble free....and a little more background very subtle snowflakes, which is the way MG intended it.
note to Chaotic; please replace the topic starter download to the new file...I'll PM you as well.

Post subject: Re: MG Christmas Blue; Style Updated!
That is kind of what I was thinking. I thought there were going to be image files and a .css file.
It looks like it's just a .style file...which you have to upload to your /cache folder. After that you install the style STYLES & TEMPLATES -> Styles Management -> Import Styles.
But don't do that yet until gearhead confirms if that is what we need to do!

Yea, and even though my belly is much smaller, I do have some grey on my head and my beard!!! So watch it.
Ok, let me tell you guys that me and the thunder from downunder believe in the .style file....
here are the instructions:
Note: .style files are an ingenious method of importing styles to your phpbb or IP database. I thought it was phpbb 101, but not everyone uses this method, but ask MG or thunder, IT WORKS. It contains EVERY part of the style for your forum.
Boy, Santa Clause is gonna be good to me, and I'll make sure he's good to you guys.
First, make sure your cache is empty. Go to ACP and uninstall and delete files (delete files may not be avail.), however, once the MG Christmas is gone, go back and delete the cache 2 or 3 times, then go to your cache folder for IP and hit refresh once and delete all the files that occured since users may still be on your site. (One safe way is to lock your site while doing this to keep having to delete the cache).....
Once the style is gone completely, then unzip the file, (I would use the unzipped version), and add it to your cache folder in IP only if the folder is empty, or very low on cached files).
Then go to Import styles. At that point, IP will show you the file that's cached or the .style file.
Go ahead and import it. Then you should test it. After it's ok, then you can empty your cache again in the ACP.....
You shouldn't have any problems at that point.
I'm on so PM me if you get stuck.

Tick the box next to MG Christmas Blue. You don't have to make it the default forum style. If you want to make it default, tick the other box as well. After that, click Import.

Ok, now we are getting somewhere. I am going to just put the standard files in zip now for the style.
It looks like the import export contained more of my styles that I didn't want to put in .style file.
Please be patient, Limun and me are working right now for a zip file ANYONE can install and have good luck with.

Thanks Limun, and Aleee for keeping the faith.
I chickened out and put for bg_th.gif, and used the bg_th from "gray" which is MG Autumn. It has a more plain and simple look:
