Regardering your question, templates are sometimes kept untill the next stable release, as this will be. There are unofficial information sources that point next stable to be released very soon, a long time before 2009's autumn.
We still have to do some checks on the RCs.

@spydie: We are not going final, as final looks like "not longer under development", and AFAIK, MG has not stayed about not continuing with IP development. We will just release a supported version with more improvements than the one before
