Resolution 1240*1080

We know that spydie,

The problem is at the lower resolutions, and there are probably a zillion users who still use 1024x768 - And theme makers have to cater for all "normally" used resolutions unfortunately. :(

It's like FF and IE - We can't tell people to use one particular browser because it "works", we have to make it work with all normally used browsers. :censored:

I'd hate to be some poor user who still uses 800x600 - God knows what that would look like. :mrviolet:

After removing the flash news block... this is the result I get on this theme... at 1024 by 768

Firefox 3.5

02_08_2009_10_27_17

IE 8

02_08_2009_10_27_48

I cannot do much better than that... if the side images was a smaller width you would not have a problem at all

in 800 by 600 the user loses some of the right hand side but the information is still there to view....

So what you are saying it that you still have a small problem with it at 1024 by 768 ?

If yes, and you make it available, and PM the link - I'll help if I can.

BTW, 800x600 was meant as a joke - If anyone still uses that, they deserve what they get. :mryellow:

I started having problems with the firefly and agent themes today. The right side is really off. I'm going to apply that footer code fix that lopalong suggested.....

I have mentioned it to MG several times that the min250 creates problems for modded themes - He keeps telling me it doesn't.

That is not fully correct... it doesn't create problems with 1024 resolutions with my templates. This is the correct sentence.

Of course a designer should take this into account in case his borders are too wide... every designer has its own preferred way for doing things, and I have found that "min250 thing" fits all my needs.

Thanks for reporting the solution for this template, I hope to keep this into my mind next time I will code a brand new template.

If you guys come up with a fix for all browsers let me know. I've tried eliminating the class argument, and the portal page, (which is the only one with trouble for me), still has a right margin problem.

:mricy:

P.S. I'm using 1024X768 and.....maybe if the spacing between the columns was narrowed down or eliminated, then things might display better?...just a thought.

I have tested my themes in every single resolution and none fail to a degree that ruins the viewers view of the site...

Agent themes do not break in any resolution in FF or IE... if you have flash news block activated it will might break that theme and I might add it to the theme folder in future for new themes..

:mryellow:

it was not the footer causing the problem the footer images were to wide... I updated the theme with new images and now they work fine... except for a slight alignment error which i will sort out shortly...

All themes are now fixed of errors... any problems on the portal pages at low resolution can be caused by flash news block or another wide block...

Let me know if it is any block and I will look at the block code...

All themes have been updated in my download section .. link in first post

Fix for flash_news_block

For everybody.

Solution of this problem.

Open templates/default/blocks/flash_news_block.tpl

find
Code: [Hide] [Select]
'width', '728',
'height', '150',

Replace with
Code: [Hide] [Select]
'width', '596',
'height', '123',

That sorts this problem.

Big thank´s to DWho

Amazing work!. You have used very effective color combination and graphic. You have also used perfect font style and size. I like dark template. This is very nice and wonderful.
Good!
