Re: Allowing Reg. Users To Create "Sub-Categories"
-----------------------------------
Gorgon,

I know the feature isn't available, but there must be a way to allow users to create different sub folders in the specified categories I create. I rather administer what people upload, rather than requiring the user to message me about a new category they need made, create the category, message them back telling them its created, and then they upload.

If the end user could just create the subcategory, and upload pics to it, it would make the forum album flow much easier.

Right now my car club has a Yahoo forum I'm really trying to get away from. Heck, even if I could just have a few "special" individuals with rights to creat sub categories, that woudl be great. Is there any plugin that would only give specific users access to create subcategories, rather than having the user log into the admin panel?

Thanks again!
Phil

Allowing users to create "sub-categories" in the categories I specify would be beneficial. I'm trying to make using this album as easy as possible. If the user is required to ask me to create a sub category first, it might deter them from even using the board. The demographic of the users on my board would primarily be late 50's + so they are not the most computer savy folks in general (but there are exceptions). I know they could get messed up by the "silly" users, but that is where the permissions would come in to play. I could give them create rights but no delete rights. Or they could have delete rights only to the sub categories they create.

Anyhow, I'll take a look where you suggested.

Thanks!

I can agree that in some cases that could be useful... but I'm still of my idea... if all users can create public cats there could be many problems... like letting users creating forum cats...

Anyway, it's your site and you know what you need better than me! :mri:

Let me know if the script still work for latest FAP.[/quote]
