Subject: Removing KB From XS
Hi all.
After a quick poll among the Staff, we have decided to remove KB from
phpBB XS.
Here are the reasons:
- KB is an outdated mod, designed for MX and not for phpBB... it has just been readapted to XS.
- Original KB was full of security holes... we should have fixed most of them... but still no 100% secure.
- KB is quite unuseful: you can use standard forums to reach similar results to KB.
- Many bugs are KB related.
Before definitely removing KB from
phpBB XS, I would like to know even your opinion... and eventually consider some GOOD (but they must be really GOOD) reasons to keep this mod in xs.
Please, vote this poll and let me know what do you think about KB.
Thank you.

but i dont know the reasons for maintain it
if you need a knowledge base there are a lot of good scripts in php free
and if you want into forums, do a forum to it
the kb its bad

I voted yes 'cause I don't use it, and, I mean, that's something more like a section of a website than a mod for forums...

No, no, no, no...
I really use the KB as an independent place where relevant articles are published. I mean... For instances, my web site is dedicated to Stephen King, well If I publish a Biography about him, after awhile the post would be lost, unless it's sticky, but I have too many articles to use them all as Sticky, If I did it would be boring to see the forum as most of the posts would be sticky's
At least, please, please, please, please, let us decide wether if we want it or we don't!!!
And last... Staff shouldn't vote here, isn't it?

why not?
all opinions are welcome
and all have our reasons
and all are users of
phpBBXS, then all have the opportunity of give opinions, including yours
possibly solutions
--------------------
remove kb --------------- :v:
but put kb how to add to next release, for people like yours, but not included, like the mods that you can download for phpbb etc...
and dont do more support for them, if you want the kb you have to install it, follow the steps........
its my solution :doc:

I think you should remove it...you could always replace it with the forum tour from
www.oxpus.de...
Personally speaking I think it is a great way of telling your members things..
